ADB Signs TAS Mandate with Madhya Pradesh

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed its first Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) mandate in India with the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 7 September 2026. The agreement aims to support renewable energy Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects and attract private investment of up to USD 1 billion in the state. Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 launched in Varanasi

The 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 was launched in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, by the Ministry of Women and Child Development on 9 September 2026. Coastal Local Area Bank gains scheduled bank status

Coastal Local Area Bank Limited, headquartered in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has been declared a scheduled bank after inclusion in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. RBI notified the change through a Gazette notification, enabling the bank to access facilities available to scheduled banks. The status enhances credibility and confidence among customers and provides potential access to refinance facilities, priority sector lending, and payments infrastructure. Punjab Launches Pehchaan Portal for Unidentified Deceased Persons

Punjab launched the Pehchaan portal in September 2026 to identify unidentified and unclaimed deceased persons. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh inaugurated the portal, which is based on Punjab’s Medico-Legal Examination and Post-Mortem Reporting System, or MedLEaPR. The portal is publicly accessible and free of cost, enabling families to trace identities of bodies kept in government mortuaries. It aims to provide closure for families and improve forensic data management by linking mortuary records with medico-legal reports, contributing to faster identification and better record-keeping across the state.

Prime Minister to Attend Valedictory of Water Security Summit (2 Sept 2026)

RBI Announces Suman Ray as Executive Director; DICGC & Premises Focus
