HCLTech to Establish AI Data Centre in Odisha

HCLTech announced that it would establish its first AI Data Centre at the Odisha Sovereign AI Park in Bhubaneswar, in partnership with Sarvam AI and the Government of Odisha. International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026 to Be Held in Jodhpur

Jodhpur will host the International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026 from 30 July to 1 August 2026. The summit will address Type 1 diabetes care, treatment, and awareness. It was unveiled at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on 23 July 2026. Organisers include The Friends of Mewar, Breakthrough T1D, and the William J. Clinton Foundation. Attendees will include clinicians, researchers, patient advocates, policymakers, and industry representatives. The conference aims to advance treatment guidelines, improve access to insulin and monitoring technologies, and promote early diagnosis through education and outreach. Digital India RISC-V Symposium 2026 to be held at IIT Madras Research Park

IIT Madras will host the Digital India RISC-V Symposium 2026 on 1–2 August 2026 at the IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The event is organized with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and RISC-V International. It aims to advance open-source hardware and semiconductor innovation under the theme ‘Empowering Bharat’s Semiconductor Future.’ Participants from academia and industry will discuss RISC-V ecosystem growth, design software, security considerations and domestic chip research. DeepDATA app launched to document India’s deep-sea fish

On 23 July 2026, the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute launched DeepDATA, a mobile application to document deep-sea fish species and collect field observations. The app provides scientifically verified information and allows users to upload data, building a national digital repository. Developed by CMFRI’s IT unit in Kochi, DeepDATA aims to standardize data collection across deep-sea habitats and support biodiversity research and policy planning. The launch aligns with India’s broader digital science push and will improve monitoring of offshore fisheries resources by enabling citizen-science contributions and verified data entries.

China launches Gravity-1 from sea, nine satellites deployed

On 22 July 2026, China’s private space firm Orienspace conducted the Gravity-1 Y4 mission from a mobile platform in the East China Sea, off Shanghai. The solid-fuel carrier lifted off the deck of the vessel Dong Fang Hang Tian Gang and released nine satellites into sun-synchronous orbits. This marked the first far-sea launch by a privately developed commercial rocket in the Yangtze River Delta region and highlighted China’s growing maritime space capabilities. The sea-based approach offers flexibility in site selection and faster turnaround for small satellite constellations. Paras Semiconductors to build greenfield OSAT facility in Madhya Pradesh

Paras Semiconductors announced plans to establish a greenfield Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility in the Indore–Ujjain region of Madhya Pradesh. The project involves an investment of about Rs. 6,200 crore and will focus on advanced semiconductor packaging, chiplet integration and wafer bumping. The facility aims to strengthen India’s domestic semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, create skilled jobs and improve supply-chain resilience. The development aligns with government efforts to expand electronics manufacturing capacity and attract global investment. Construction and commissioning timelines were not disclosed, but the project is expected to contribute to India’s broader techno-economic goals.
