The first Northeast India Organic Week concluded on December 1, 2025. Hosted by Meghalaya, the four-day event aimed at positioning the state and the wider region as a strong competitor in the global organic market. The programme brought together international buyers, organic specialists and youth leaders to accelerate market access and highlight the region's biodiversity-driven produce.
The event was organised by the state agriculture department in partnership with APEDA, the Union commerce ministry and IFOAM-Organics Asia.
Delegations, importers and representatives from 13 countries, including Malaysia, Taiwan, Mongolia, New Zealand and Indonesia, attended the event. A major attraction was the APEDA buyer-seller meet, designed to foster direct engagement between producers and global markets looking for sustainable and certified organic products.
Tripura Signs Two Skill Development MoUs with IIT Delhi, Tata IIS
To enhance skill development of youth with emerging industry demands, the Tripura government signed two MoUs with IIT Delhi and Tata IIS.
These partnerships aim to train a total of 1,000 candidates in cutting-edge job roles aligned with emerging industry demands, thereby boosting local employment and reducing outmigration.
The first MoU, signed with IIT Delhi, will train 500 candidates in five futuristic job roles Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and 5G technologies.
Under the second MoU, Tata IIS will train another 500 candidates in high-demand technical sectors such as industrial automation safety engineering, industrial robotic system integration, electric vehicle maintenance technician, CNC programming, and 3D printing operations.
