IGNCA Launches Abhijeet Joag’s Book on Indian Identity
The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) launched Abhijeet Joag’s book Bharat: That Is India – Reclaiming Our Real Identity in New Delhi. The event was attended by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and IGNCA Trust President Ram Bahadur Rai. The author argues that India’s sense of nationhood arises from an ancient cultural consciousness that predates the modern nation-state, emphasising dharma and the continuity of Indian thought. The book contributes to scholarly discourse on national identity and cultural heritage, inviting readers to reflect on historical narratives and how they shape contemporary discussions about India’s place in the world.
