Manohar Lal Khattar Launches DRAP, UiWIN to Clear Dumpsites Across India

  • Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched two flagship initiatives - the Dumpsite Remediation Accelerator Programme (DRAP) and the Urban Investment Window (UiWIN) in a major step towards building sustainable and investment-ready cities across India.
  • The move marks a major leap in India's urban transformation, with DRAP targeting the elimination of legacy waste dumpsites by September next year, and UiWIN aiming to unlock private and multilateral investments to fuel infrastructure growth in cities, in line with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat.'
  • The Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs inaugurated DRAP, UiWIN, and other key initiatives during the two-day 'National Urban Conclave 2025' in the capital.

Employees' Enrolment Scheme-2025 Launched to Expand Social Security Coverage for Employees

  • Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya launched the Employee's Enrolment Scheme 2025, in November. The Minister launched the scheme at the 73rd Foundation Day celebrations of the Employee's Provident Fund Organisation in New Delhi. According to the Ministry, this scheme is to promote voluntary compliance and extend social security coverage to all eligible employees.
  • The Scheme will provide a special window for employers to voluntarily enrol eligible employees who were left out from EPF coverage between July 1, 2017 and October 31, 2025. The Scheme shall remain open for six months, till April 30, 2026.
  • This scheme is expected to facilitate wider EPF coverage and formalisation of the workforce through simplified path for employers to regularise past omissions. This is also a giant leap towards strengthening the goal of "Social Security for All" and ensuring that every worker is part of India's organised social safety network.
