Veteran Socialist Leader Dr. Baba Adhav Passes Away

Former Mizoram Governor Swaraj Kaushal passes away

Senior lawyer Swaraj Kaushal, former Mizoram Governor and husband of late Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, died at age 74. Born July 12, 1952, in Solan, Kaushal studied in Delhi and Chandigarh and built a distinguished legal career. He served as Mizoram Governor from 1990 to 1993 and as a member of Parliament from 1998 to 2004, representing Haryana. Kaushal was an expert on the northeast and its insurgency, contributing to the Mizoram Peace Accord negotiations in 1986 and serving as Mizoram Advocate General in 1987. He is survived by his wife and daughter Bansuri Swaraj, BJP MP. He will be remembered for public service.
