Hiroshima Day

  • The world observed the 80th anniversary of the first use of a nuclear weapon as Hiroshima Day on August 6, 2025. On this day in 1945, the United States dropped the first atomic bomb, codenamed 'Little Boy', on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. People across Japan remember this day as one of the darkest days in the country's history.
  • Hiroshima Day is observed annually on this day to commemorate the victims of the world's first nuclear attack. In addition to being a day of remembrance for the lives lost.

World Lung Cancer Day
