World Art Day

World Art Day is celebrated on April 15 every year. The special occasion is marked annually to acknowledge the contributions of artists, emphasising the importance of art in our lives.
The idea behind World Art Day was officially conceived on April 15, 2012, during a General Assembly meeting of the International Association of Art (IAA) in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The special day was declared as a special tribute to the birthday of the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci, who is hailed as the symbol of freedom of expression and peace.
The theme for World Art Day 2025 is 'A Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community Through Art.'

Himachal Pradesh Day

Himachal Pradesh celebrated its 78th Foundation Day on April 15.
On April 15, 1948, the state was formed by merging 30 small and large princely states. Since then, April 15 has been observed every year as 'Himachal Pradesh Day'.
It became a Union Territory on November 1, 1956; however, on December 18, 1970, the State of Himachal Pradesh Act was passed by Parliament, and Himachal Pradesh was designated as the 18th state on January 25, 1971 with Shimla as its capital.

World Chagas Disease Day

The World Health Organization (WHO) observes World Chagas Disease Day every April 14 to raise awareness about the neglected tropical disease that affects millions of people, especially in Latin America.
It was first celebrated on April 14, 2020, and was named after Carlos Ribeiro Justiniano Chagas, the Brazilian doctor who diagnosed the first case. The 72nd World Health Assembly dedicated this day to the disease in 2019.
The theme for World Chagas Disease Day 2025 is 'Prevent, Control, Care: Everyone's role in Chagas disease.'

National Safe Motherhood Day

Every year on April 11 India celebrates National Safe Motherhood Day. National Safe Motherhood Day was established in 2003 by the White Ribbon Alliance India (WRAI). The date marks the birth anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi, wife of Mahatma Gandhi, who dedicated her life to the welfare of women and children.
The theme for National Safe Motherhood Day 2025 is 'Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.'

World Parkinson's Day

Every year, World Parkinson's Day is observed on April 11.
In 1817, Dr. James Parkinson was the first person to discover the first case of Parkinson's Disease. In 1997, European Association for Parkinson's Disease announced that April 11 will be observed as World Parkinson's Day every year. The World Health Organisation also co-sponsored the event.

World Homoeopathy Day is observed each year on April 10 to raise awareness about the role of homoeopathy in healthcare and encourage more people to learn about it.
World Homoeopathy Day is observed to celebrate the birth anniversary of Christian Samuel Hahnemann father and founder of homeopathy who was born on April 10 in 1755.

PM Modi Participates in Navkar Mahamantra Divas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in Navkar Mahamantra Divas on April 9, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This global spiritual event promotes peace, unity, and spiritual awakening. Organised by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), the occasion witnessed participation from over 108 countries and over 1.08 crore devotees, engaging in the chanting of the Navkar Mahamantra for universal harmony and introspection.
