Garuda Aerospace and BEL sign MoU for defence UAS supply
Chennai-based Garuda Aerospace and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on supplying Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to Indian Defence Forces, Central Police Organizations, and security agencies. BEL will act as team leader and lead bidder, while Garuda will serve as technology and teaming partner. The agreement sets a framework for collaboration on future procurement, production, and integration of UAS capabilities to enhance India’s defence and security operations. The pact reflects ongoing efforts to build domestic capabilities in advanced aerospace systems.

Western Command holds 2026 Investiture Ceremony recognizing gallantry and service
Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar presided over the Western Command Investiture Ceremony 2026 in Delhi Cantt. The event recognised 100 awardees for bravery and distinguished service, including six Yudh Seva Medals and 30 Sena Medals (G) with four posthumous honours. The ceremony also awarded 44 Vishisht Seva Medals and featured a display of in-house drone capabilities. General Katiyar addressed awardees and families, stressing professional excellence, innovation and readiness to safeguard India’s frontiers. The gathering highlighted the Army’s focus on valor, sacrifice, and modernisation in support of national security.

Sanjha Shakti: Indian Army conducts civil–military exercise in Southern Command
The Indian Army conducted the Sanjha Shakti exercise to boost civil–military coordination in the Southern Command. The joint Military–Civil Fusion exercise at the Dighi Hills Range involved more than 350 personnel and 16 civilian agencies, including police, fire and disaster response units from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. The aim was to test interoperability, communication, decision-making and rapid response under realistic scenarios, strengthening civilian resilience during emergencies. Lt Gen DS Kushwah highlighted the importance of close civil–military collaboration, with an emphasis on preparedness and joint action to safeguard public safety and security.

National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, released the second edition of the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) 2.0 rankings. Uttarakhand Police topped the national rankings with an impressive score of 93.46, demonstrating exceptional digital policing capabilities and effective crime data management. Haryana Police secured second position with 93.41, while Assam Police claimed third place with 93.16.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded a supply order by the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) for the overhaul, upgrade, and obsolescence management of the indigenous Pinaka multi‑rocket launcher systems. The collaboration between a domestic OEM and the Army supports lifecycle sustainment of in‑service artillery. The programme will focus on replacing outdated components, upgrading critical subsystems, and providing sustained technical support to Army Base Workshops. This initiative underscores Made‑in‑India efforts to keep frontline artillery systems current and maintain operational readiness through ongoing maintenance and modernization.

Indian Army launches Depot Integration Management Edition (DIME) to transform logistics
The Indian Army launched Depot Integration Management Edition (DIME), a pan-Army digital platform that provides real-time visibility of logistics from units to Army Headquarters. Developed jointly by the Indian Army and the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N), DIME standardises digital workflows across depots and units. It offers integrated dashboards, exception alerts, and predictive stock analytics to support proactive logistics. The platform is expected to cut paperwork by about 70 percent, shorten logistics cycles by a third, and deliver near real-time asset visibility across the entire logistics ecosystem, helping commanders make informed decisions.

Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron to deploy to South East Asia
Three naval ships and an Indian Coast Guard vessel from the Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron will undertake a long-range training deployment to South East Asia. INS Tir, INS Shardul, INS Sujata, and ICGS Sarathi will participate in the 110th Integrated Officers' Training Course (IOTC). The squadron will call at Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand as part of the deployment. The mission emphasizes training excellence, maritime diplomacy, and regional cooperation, reinforcing India’s strategic maritime presence in the Indo-Pacific while helping junior officers gain international exposure and practical experience in seamanship and interoperability.
