Tropical Cyclone Zelia made landfall on Australia's west coast, lashing the world's largest iron ore hub with heavy rain and wind gusts up to 290 kph (180 mph).
The eye of the category five storm, the highest rating on the scale, crossed the coast east of Port Hedlan), sparing the town's population centre from the cyclone's most destructive winds.
Cyclone Zelia is the most severe storm to hit the Pilbara coast since Cyclone Ilsa in April 2023.

Decks Cleared in Madhya Pradesh for World's Largest Groundwater Recharge
The decks were cleared for the ambitious Tapti Mega Recharge Project, with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announcing that his government had "removed all obstacles" for the interstate project with Maharashtra and is now heading towards an agreement.
The announcement came following a meeting of the state Cabinet. The project is meant to supply water to Maharashtra's northern region and Madhya Pradesh's southern areas. It is also aimed at addressing drinking water concerns in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and irrigation needs in Chhindwara.
According to the Madhya Pradesh government, once signed and implemented, it will be the world's largest groundwater recharge.

Himachal Sets Stage for North India's First Green Hydrogen Facility
Himachal Pradesh initiated North India's first Green Hydrogen Plant at Dabhota in Nalagarh, situated in the state's industrial belt of Baddi-Brotiwala and Nalagarh near Chandigarh. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for the 1 MW plant, which aligns with the state's goal of becoming India's first green state by March 31, 2026. The Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL), in collaboration with Oil India Limited, will develop this project at a cost of Rs. 9.04 crore. The plant is expected to be operational within a year and will contribute to reducing carbon emissions by utilising renewable energy sources for hydrogen production.

IICA and CMAI Sign MoU to Enhance Capacity for Decarbonisation
