In a blend of music and artificial intelligence, A. R. Rahman partnered with Google Cloud to launch Secret Mountain—an immersive entertainment venture featuring AI-powered digital avatars. This collaboration marks a major leap in how music, culture, and technology intersect to shape the future of digital storytelling and fan engagement.
Secret Mountain is a metahuman digital band conceived by AR Rahman. It comprises six hyper-realistic synthetic avatars, each crafted to represent diverse cultures and musical styles.
These avatars are designed to look, move, and express emotions like real humans, offering audiences a lifelike performance experience in virtual environments.

Pottery, Terracotta Products at Mati Kala Mahotsav
The Khadi Bhawan in Lucknow came alive with the inauguration of the Mati Kala Mahotsav 2025, a 10-day celebration of Uttar Pradesh's traditional pottery and terracotta craftsmanship. The festival was inaugurated by Rakesh Sachan, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Khadi, Handloom, and Textiles, who described it as a confluence of tradition and innovation.
During the event, the minister launched the Mati Kala portal and e-Verification Mobile App, developed by the Uttar Pradesh Mati Kala Board to streamline digital registration and verification of artisans across the state. The platform aims to provide a transparent and accessible interface for potters to access govt benefits, training, and marketing support.
The Mati Kala Mahotsav 2025 concludes on October 19.

Woman Appointed Archbishop of Canterbury in Historic First
For the first time in the Church of England's 491-year history, a woman has been appointed to lead it.
Downing Street announced that Bishop of London Dame Sarah Mullally, 63, who became a Christian aged 16, would be the successor to Justin Welby who resigned in Jan over his handling of a child sex abuse scandal.
Currently known as the Archbishop of Canterbury-designate, she will legally become the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury at her confirmation of election at St Paul's Cathedral in Jan 2026, with a service of installation taking place at Canterbury Cathedral in March 2026.
Mullally has been Bishop of London since 2018, the first woman appointed to that role too. Prior to her ordination in 2001, she was chief nursing officer for England — the youngest person ever to be appointed to that role at the age of 37 — having previously specialised as a cancer nurse.
