MNRE Minister Pralhad Joshi Launches Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme

  • Pralhad Joshi Minister of New and Renewable Energy launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI). He mentioned that the scheme is a foundational step towards creating a robust framework for certifying green hydrogen production and ensuring transparency, traceability, and market credibility.
  • While the scheme applies to companies that have bid for the government's incentives for the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives, it leaves out the exporters who have not availed them.

Commerce Ministry Plans to Extend RoDTEP Scheme beyond September 30

  • In what could provide confidence to Indian exporters grappling with an unpredictable global market, the government is set to extend the popular Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme beyond September 30, 2025 when it is scheduled to lapse.
  • The RoDTEP scheme, announced in January 2021, refunds embedded duties and taxes, such as VAT on fuel used in transportation, mandi tax and duty on electricity used during manufacturing of the exported items.

Delhi Launches 'Ayushman Vay Vandana' Scheme Offering Free Rs. 10 Lakh Health Cover to Seniors 70+

  • The Delhi government introduced the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme, offering comprehensive health insurance coverage of Rs. 10 lakh to citizens aged 70 years and above. The initiative focuses on delivering free health services, annual check-ups, and secure digital health records to ensure the dignity, care, and health security of Delhi's senior population.
  • The first set of Vay Vandana health cards were distributed at an event attended by CM Rekha Gupta and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

TN CM Launches Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam Scheme

  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin launched the Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam (KKT), artisans development scheme named after former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, rejecting the Centre's PM Vishwakarma Scheme in its present form.
  • Unlike the Vishwakarma Scheme, the DMK government's programme does not discriminate people on the basis of caste but encouraged caste inclusivity, the CM said at the launch of his government's version.

UP's Zero Poverty Scheme to be Named after Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

  • On the occasion of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's 135th birth anniversary, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the upcoming 'Zero Poverty' Mission will be named after Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The scheme aims to uplift every underprivileged and deprived individual above the poverty line. While paying tribute in Lucknow, Yogi criticized opposition parties for disrespecting Ambedkar's legacy and emphasised the BJP's efforts to preserve and promote his ideals.

Unified Health Coverage Scheme Rolled Out in Odisha

  • Odisha rolled out a unified health insurance scheme aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare for its residents. Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda, at an event held in Cuttack, inaugurated the distribution of the new Unified Ayushman Card, which integrated the Centre's Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) with the state-sponsored Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY).

Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme 2025 to Give up to Rs. 4 Lakh Concessional Loan

  • The Telangana government rolled out the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme 2025, aimed at promoting self-employment among youth from disadvantaged communities, including SC, ST, BC, Minorities, and EBC/EWS groups.
  • Under the scheme, eligible applicants can access concessional loans of up to Rs. 4 lakh to establish their own businesses, with implementation managed by respective development corporations.
  • To qualify for Telangana's Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme, applicants must meet income criteria — Rs. 1.5 lakh annually for rural residents and Rs. 2 lakh for urban dwellers. Age eligibility ranges from 21 to 55 years for non-agricultural businesses, and up to 60 years for agricultural and allied activities.
