UPITS 2025 to Highlight CM YUVA Scheme, MoUs with 27 Universities
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2025), scheduled from September 25 to 29 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, will feature a major focus on youth entrepreneurship through the Chief Minister's YUVA scheme. The initiative aims to provide young people with exposure to innovative projects, business models, and opportunities for collaboration.
A central highlight of the event will be the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on September 27 between the CM YUVA program and 27 educational institutions across the state. The agreements are designed to link universities directly with the scheme, enabling final-year students and alumni to participate in entrepreneurial ventures and innovation-driven projects.
More than 150 stalls will be showcased in Hall No. 18A, covering technology-based enterprises, franchise models, and new business ideas. The exhibition will bring together students, industry representatives, and startup enthusiasts from across Uttar Pradesh. Bankers and corporate leaders are also expected to evaluate projects and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Karnataka Launches Rs 1,000 Crore "LEAP" to Fuel Innovation Across the State
The Karnataka government launched a bold new initiative called LEAP (Local Economy Accelerator Programme), with an outlay of Rs. 1,000 crore over five years.
Designed to spread innovation and entrepreneurial growth beyond Bengaluru, LEAP aims to create five lakh jobs, uplift emerging tech clusters across the state, and strengthen startup ecosystems from schools to global markets.
The programme is intended to address key gaps — infrastructure, funding, mentorship — so that innovation reaches every region of Karnataka.
One of the central goals is to generate 5 lakh (500,000) jobs across Karnataka outside Bengaluru. Clusters identified for special focus include Mysuru Chamarajanagar, Mangaluru Udupi, Hubbali Belagavi Dharwad, Tumkur, Kalaburagi, and Shivamogga.

M.K. Stalin Launches 'Anbu Karangal' Scheme For Orphaned Children
In a compassionate move to secure the future of children left vulnerable by the loss of parental care, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the 'Anbu Karangal' (Hands of Love) scheme in September 2025.
This welfare initiative promises monthly financial support of Rs. 2,000 to orphaned children, ensuring that education and basic needs are not compromised due to the absence of parental guidance or those who have lost one parent, until they complete their school education or turn 18.
The scheme is a key part of the DMK government's larger social security framework and is expected to directly impact thousands of children across the state.
It reflects Tamil Nadu's growing emphasis on inclusive and child-focused governance.

MNRE Launches India's first National Geothermal Energy Policy
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy launched the National Policy on Geothermal Energy in 2025.
Briefing the media on the Policy that afternoon, Secretary, New and Renewable Energy Ministry Santosh Sarangi said the idea behind this policy was to bring together all stakeholders. He said there is huge potential for using thermal energy for cooling.
The Policy will encourage research, inter ministerial collaboration, and adoption of global best practices for geothermal energy development.
The regulatory and stewardship responsibilities for geothermal energy shall be with the Ministry.
Ten geothermal provinces were identified in India. These included Himalayas, Cambay Basin, Aravalli, Mahanadi basin and Godavari Basin. The estimated potential for geothermal energy in India is about 10 Gigawatt.
The National Policy on Geothermal Energy targets integration of geothermal energy with India's Net Zero emissions by 2070 and renewable energy goals.
There is scope for diverse applications, including electricity generation and space heating and cooling, agriculture, tourism and desalination.
The Policy encourages research and development of advanced systems such as hybrid geothermal solar plants, and retrofitting abandoned oil wells.
It lays emphasis on local innovation, joint ventures, and repurposing oil and gas infrastructure.
It aims to build a robust public-private ecosystem for long term development of Geothermal Sector.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' along with the eighth edition of Poshan Maah in September 2025, marking what the government described as India's largest-ever women and child health mobilisation drive.
The initiative, jointly spearheaded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), focuses on preventive, promotive and curative health services for women, adolescent girls and children.
As part of the campaign, more than one lakh health camps will be organised across the country from September 17 to October 2, with daily camps in all government health facilities.
The Abhiyaan will cover screening for non-communicable diseases, cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, and maternal health, besides providing nutrition counselling, menstrual hygiene promotion and awareness sessions on lifestyle and mental health.
PM Vishwakarma & National SC-ST Hub Mega Conclave in Bodh Gaya
The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India organised 'PM Vishwakarma and National SC-ST Hub Mega Conclave' in September 2025, at the International Convention Center, Bodh Gaya, Bihar.
The event was held in commemoration of the second anniversary of PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the PM Vishwakarma Scheme on September 17, 2023 to provide end-to-end support to traditional artisans and craftspeople in 18 trades with the aim of transforming them to successful entrepreneurs.
The Scheme provides benefits to artisans and craftspeople with Recognition, Skill Upgradation, Toolkit Incentive, Credit Support, Incentive for Digital Transaction and Marketing Support.
Further, for inclusive growth, the 'National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme' was launched by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in October 2016 with the objective of augmenting the capacity of SC-ST entrepreneurs and to empower them to participate in public procurement process and to fulfill the mandated target of 4% public procurement from SC-ST MSEs.
Several initiatives have been undertaken to boost entrepreneurship amongst SC/STs in skilling/capacity building, market linkages, finance facilitation, tender bid participation, etc.
