Manohar Lal Khattar Launches DRAP, UiWIN to Clear Dumpsites Across India

  • Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched two flagship initiatives - the Dumpsite Remediation Accelerator Programme (DRAP) and the Urban Investment Window (UiWIN) in a major step towards building sustainable and investment-ready cities across India.
  • The move marks a major leap in India's urban transformation, with DRAP targeting the elimination of legacy waste dumpsites by September next year, and UiWIN aiming to unlock private and multilateral investments to fuel infrastructure growth in cities, in line with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat.'
  • The Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs inaugurated DRAP, UiWIN, and other key initiatives during the two-day 'National Urban Conclave 2025' in the capital.

Employees' Enrolment Scheme-2025 Launched to Expand Social Security Coverage for Employees

  • Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya launched the Employee's Enrolment Scheme 2025, in November. The Minister launched the scheme at the 73rd Foundation Day celebrations of the Employee's Provident Fund Organisation in New Delhi. According to the Ministry, this scheme is to promote voluntary compliance and extend social security coverage to all eligible employees.
  • The Scheme will provide a special window for employers to voluntarily enrol eligible employees who were left out from EPF coverage between July 1, 2017 and October 31, 2025. The Scheme shall remain open for six months, till April 30, 2026.
  • This scheme is expected to facilitate wider EPF coverage and formalisation of the workforce through simplified path for employers to regularise past omissions. This is also a giant leap towards strengthening the goal of "Social Security for All" and ensuring that every worker is part of India's organised social safety network.

"Per Drop More Crop (PDMC)" Scheme Gets New Flexibility

  • The Government introduced new flexibility under the Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) scheme to promote efficient water use and boost farmer income.
  • The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare informed that the initiative will empower States and Union Territories to take up micro-level water storage and conservation projects as part of Other Interventions (OI).
  • The Ministry further said that States and UTs can now plan micro-level water management activities-such as diggi construction and water harvesting systems-based on local needs. It added that these systems are developed for individual farmers as well as community use, ensuring sustainable water availability for micro-irrigation.
  • Furthermore, the initiatives aim to help farmers adopt micro-irrigation, improve water-use efficiency, and ultimately increase productivity and income.

Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Introduces Alliance Air's "Fare se Fursat" Fixed Airfare S...

  • Minister of Civil Aviation, Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, inaugurated 'Fare Se Fursat', a historic initiative by India's government-owned regional carrier, Alliance Air. 'Fair Se Fursat' is aimed at giving passengers freedom from the stress of fluctuating airfares and promoting ease of flying in the country. The launch event was graced by Secretary, Civil Aviation, Samir Kumar Sinha; Chairman, Alliance Air, Amit Kumar and CEO, Alliance Air, Rajarshi Sen.
  • Under this scheme, Alliance Air will offer a single, fixed fare that remains constant regardless of the booking date, even on the day of departure. The initiative has been implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025 across select routes, to evaluate its operational feasibility and passenger response.

Ayush Ministry Launches SPARK 4.0 to Foster Research Skills Among Ayurveda Undergraduates

  • The government announced the fourth edition of its flagship Studentship Program for Ayurveda Research Ken (SPARK) aimed to ignite scientific curiosity and research aptitude among undergraduate Ayurveda students across the country. The Ministry of Ayush said that under this program, three hundred Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery students from colleges recognised by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) will receive a studentship of 50 thousand rupees. It added that the registration window will open on 15 of this month till 15 November.
  • Highlighting the key benefits of the SPARK, the Ministry said that nearly 591 students from 289 Ayurveda educational institutions across the country have benefited through this platform. The program offers hands-on exposure to research methodology, experimental design, and data analysis and helping participants gain foundational experience in scientific investigation at an early academic stage.

PM Modi Launches 2 Agri Schemes

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched two key initiatives, the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY), and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, in New Delhi.
  • The two schemes, announced during the Union Budget 2025-26 and approved by the Cabinet, will be implemented from the upcoming rabi (winter) season until 2030-31.
  • The move is with an aim to make India self-reliant as well as reduce import dependency.
