Prize Distribution Ceremony of Defence Innovation Challenge for Excellence 2024

  • The grand finale and prize distribution ceremony of the Defence Innovation Challenge for Excellence (DICE-2024) was organised during Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru. The competition witnessed an overwhelming response, attracting applications from 47 cities across 17 states. After rigorous screening across three levels, 24 start-ups advanced to the grand finale, with winners selected across three categories: Revenue Stage, Pre-Revenue Stage, and Idea Stage. These are:

  • Runner-up: Nikhil Rajput, NxtQube - Aerogravity Pvt. Ltd., Nashik
  • Pre-Revenue Stage
  • Winner: A. Gyanesh Kumar Rao, Gyanadraksha Wydhumraketustra Subrahmkr Pvt. Ltd., Bhilai, Madhya Pradesh.
  • Runner-up: Utkarsh Ahuja, Contriver Autonomous Systems Private Limited, Delhi
  • Idea Stage
  • Winner: Vijay Mamtani, Prayogik, Bhopal
  • Runner-up: Ryan Nadar, PLASMA BLADE PROPELLER, Mumbai
  • Special Jury Mention: Sarthak Sudhir
  • The grand jury panel for the finale featured senior officials from the Armed Forces, Distinguished Academicians, and seasoned industry leaders. Winners were awarded a total cash prize of Rs. 6.50 lakh, along with exclusive incubation and seed funding opportunities through MAGIC.

Aero Club of France Honours Tom Cruise for Aviation Excellence

  • Hollywood star Tom Cruise was awarded the Grande Médaille, the highest distinction from the Aero-Club de France. The honour was presented by the club's president, Catherine Maunoury, in recognition of Cruise's significant contributions to aviation and his role in inspiring future pilots. Cruise, known for his passion for flying and performing his own stunts, has often incorporated aviation into his films, most notably in Top Gun: Maverick and the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Indian Students Win Bronze at Global Best M-Gov Award 2025 in Dubai

  • Three Indian computer science students from New Delhi won the Bronze Award at the Global Best M-Gov Award 2025 during the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai. The accolade recognises innovative technological solutions advancing mobile government services and societal progress.
  • The award, along with a cash prize of $10,000, was presented by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates.
  • The winning team comprised Sagar Teotia (team lead), Abhinav Mishra, and Anushka Singh, all fourth-semester computer science students from the Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi. They were recognized for their application AccessWay, an AI-powered platform that integrates augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence, and crowdsourced data to provide accessible navigation, social connections, and emergency tools for individuals with disabilities.
