DBS Conferred Three Global Awards, Including the Most Prestigious 'World's Best Bank' Accolade, b...

DBS scored a hat-trick of global wins at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025. This included receiving the 'World's Best Bank' accolade, marking the third time that the bank has clinched Euromoney's top accolade since 2019. The recognition is a testament to DBS' solid financial performance, unwavering commitment to customer excellence, relentless focus on innovation and strong sense of purpose. DBS was also named the inaugural winner in the 'World's Best Bank for Customer Experience' category and 'World's Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility' for the second time. In another maiden win from Euromoney, DBS was recognised as the 'Best Digital Bank for SMEs' in India, underlining the value that its digital-first offering has delivered for customers domestically as well.

Nepal, Bhutan and USA Receive Top Honours in ICC Development Awards Ceremony

South Asian neighbours Nepal and Bhutan were among eight nations to win global honours in the 2024 edition of ICC Development Awards, cricket's parent body said.
USA Cricket received the ICC Associate Member Men's Team Performance of the Year award for its success in the last calendar year, with performances that included qualifying for the Super Eight of the T20 World Cup hosted by the USA and the West Indies.
Apart from USA, Bhutan and Nepal, other five nations to receive the awards were Indonesia, Namibia, Scotland, Tanzania, and Vanuatu.
Cricket Namibia won the ICC Development Initiative of the Year award for its Ashburton Kwata Mini-Cricket Programme, the country's flagship grassroots development initiative.
For the first time, the ICC Female Cricket Initiative of the Year award was shared by two Members—Bhutan Cricket Council Board and Vanuatu Cricket Association.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) received the ICC Digital Fan Engagement of the Year award.

Jindal Foundation Honoured with CSR TIMES Gold Award

The Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, was awarded the prestigious CSR TIMES Award in the Gold Category for Sports Promotion. H.E. Ms Jacqueline Mukangira, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to India, presented the award to Mr Prashant Hota, President & Group Head (CSR) of Jindal Steel, at the 12th CSR Summit in New Delhi.

Kerala Announces Kathakali and Classical Arts Awards

The Government of Kerala announced the State Kathakali Awards, Pallavur Appu Marar Vadya Puraskaram, and Keraleeya Nritta-Natya Puraskaram for 2023, honouring veterans who have contributed immensely to the preservation and promotion of Kerala's classical performing arts. The awards reflect the state's commitment to safeguarding its rich cultural heritage.
Kerala is renowned for its classical art forms like Kathakali, Koodiyattam, and traditional percussion instruments like Chenda and Maddalam. These awards are instituted by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi under the Department of Cultural Affairs to recognise outstanding contributions by individuals in preserving these traditions. The awards are presented annually and carry a cash prize, citation, and a plaque.

INCOIS Receives National Geospatial Practitioner Award 2025

The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) was conferred the National Geospatial Practitioner Award 2025 for its exceptional application of open-source spatial technologies. The award was presented during the Open Source GIS Day (Edition 2) held at IIT Bombay, recognising INCOIS's contributions to marine geospatial intelligence and data-driven ocean management.
INCOIS is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), headquartered in Hyderabad. It is responsible for providing ocean information and advisory services to various stakeholders, including fishermen, coastal authorities, disaster management agencies, and researchers.
The National Geospatial Practitioner Award is a prestigious recognition granted to institutions demonstrating innovative uses of geospatial technology.

Deepika Sehrawat Wins Prestigious Poligras Magic Skill Award

In a historic achievement for Indian sports, Deepika Sehrawat won the Poligras Magic Skill Award for her extraordinary solo goal against the Netherlands during the 2024–25 FIH Hockey Pro League. This recognition reflects both her individual brilliance and India's growing impact in international women's hockey.
The Poligras Magic Skill Award is a fan-voted international recognition given by the FIH to the most creative and skilful play in the Pro League season. Deepika's victory is notable as it marks the first time an Indian—male or female—has won this award, highlighting the rise of Indian women in global hockey.

Droupadi Murmu Confers the Prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards

Indore once again retained its title as India's cleanest city for the eighth consecutive year. Surat secured the second position, while Navi Mumbai ranked third in the central government's annual cleanliness survey. The ninth edition of the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards was conferred by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held in New Delhi. The President highlighted that cleanliness is one of the most important aspects of the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and urged countrymen to move forward in making the country clean, healthy and developed. She emphasised that cleanliness has been a core element of the country's cultural and spiritual consciousness since ancient times.

President Murmu Confers Kalinga Ratna Award 2024 to Dharmendra Pradhan

President Droupadi Murmu presented the Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at an event in Cuttack, Odisha. The award ceremony was held during the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, a revered 15th-century Odia poet, organised by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad.
The Kalinga Ratna Award, presented annually by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad, recognises individuals who have made significant contributions in the fields of education, literature, culture, or public service.
