The 30th Session of the International Seabed Authority
The 30th Session of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is being held from March 17 to 28, 2025, in Jamaica. Nearly 170 member states and the European Union convened to discuss deep-sea mining regulations. This meeting comes amid increasing pressure from mining industries eager to exploit seabed resources. The ISA's primary responsibilities include developing a mining code and protecting the marine environment from potential damage due to mining activities.
The International Seabed Authority (ISA) is an independent organization formed in 1994.
It was created when the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) became effective in 1982.

India's First PPP Green Waste Processing Plant in Indore
Indore is set to achieve another milestone in sustainable waste management by establishing India's first green waste processing plant under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This project, initiated under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, aims to convert green waste into valuable resources, promoting environmental sustainability and reducing pollution.
The facility will process green waste, generate revenue for the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), and provide an alternative to coal by producing wooden pellets. The plant is a significant step towards innovation, circular economy, and eco-friendly waste management.

New Delhi is Most Polluted Capital, Byrnihat in Meghalaya Tops List of Cities
New Delhi continues to be the world's most polluted capital while Meghalaya's Byrnihat is the world's most polluted metropolitan area, according to the 2024 World Air Quality Report released in March 2025.
With an average annual PM 2.5 concentration of 91.8 µg/m3, New Delhi remained the most polluted capital city followed by Chad's N'Djamena (91.6) and Dhaka (78).
According to the latest report, prepared by Swiss air quality technology company IQAir, 13 of the world's 20 most polluted cities are in India, with Byrnihat topping the chart with an annual average PM 2.5 concentration of 128.2 µg/m3.

Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh Becomes India's 58th Tiger Reserve
The Centre declared the Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh as the country's 58th tiger reserve, with Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav making the announcement. The newly added national park was also the ninth from the state to get the recognition.
Located in the Shivpuri district in Chambal region, the reserve has five tigers at present, including the two cubs.
