IIT-Kanpur Collaborates with the Art of Living Foundation for a Well-Being Programme for Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) partnered with The Art of Living Foundation (TAOLF) to launch a well-being programme. The programme is focused on enhancing mental resilience, stress management, and personal growth among the students. The initiative aims to support students in navigating academic and personal challenges with greater ease.
As part of this collaboration, TAOL will conduct specialised sessions at IIT Kanpur that will integrate meditation, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices to enhance focus, emotional stability, and overall mental well-being. The programme will include interactive sessions, group activities, and guided meditation programmes led by experienced facilitators from TAOL.

IIT-Madras Pravartak, L&T Launch Industry-Skilling Training for Students, Professionals

IIT-Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation partnered with L&T EduTech to launch over 100 industry-skilling joint certification programs. These programs, as per IIT-M, are designed to equip students and professionals with the essential skills needed to meet the dynamic demands of the engineering and technology sectors.
The curriculum is prepared by industry experts from Larsen & Toubro (L&T), ensuring the programs are highly relevant to the latest industry trends and practices.
these joint certification programs offer short term certification and executive certification options. The programs cover key engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Electronics and Communication Engineering. Emerging Technologies like AI, IoT, Digitalisation, Robotics, Cyber Physical Systems, Next Gen Energy Storage, Hydrogen Technology and Industry 4.0, among others, will also be covered.

HP Govt. to Provide Free Competitive Exams Coaching to Students

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched the 'Mere Shahar Ke 100 Ratna' programme, an initiative aimed at providing free coaching for various competitive examinations to 6,800 students across Himachal Pradesh.
Under this programme, CRACK Academy will offer free coaching to 100 meritorious students from each Assembly constituency, with an estimated investment of Rs 34 crore. To ensure a fair selection process, tests will be conducted in schools and colleges of each constituency, where students from Class VI and above can participate.
The top 100 students from each constituency will receive free coaching, while the next 200 students will be given a 75 per cent concession and the following 500 students will receive a 50 per cent concession.

Manoj Kumar Tiwari Reappointed as IIM Mumbai Director

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) reappointed Professor Manoj Kumar Tiwari as its Director for a second term.
Professor Tiwari is an A B.E. graduate from VNIT, Nagpur. The professor has done his MTech from MNNIT Allahabad and obtained PhD from the University of Jadavpur, West Bengal.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari is an academician and researcher with over three decades of experience spanning industry, research, teaching, and consulting, both in India and internationally. Prior to assuming the role of Director at IIM Mumbai, he had an extensive tenure at IIT Kharagpur, where he served in various academic and administrative capacities, contributing to its growth and reputation.

IIT Guwahati, Danfoss Industries Sign MoU to Drive Innovation in Sustainable Tech at IInvenTiv 2025

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Danfoss Industries Private Limited, during IInvenTiv 2025, the Global Innovation Showcase hosted at IIT Madras.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Education and Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), along with senior officials, academic leaders, and industry representatives.
The MoU was signed by Prof Devendra Jalihal, Director, IIT Guwahati, and Ravichandran Purushothaman, Regional President - Danfoss Industries Private Limited, India, marking a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between academia and industry in the fields of sustainable technologies and advanced engineering solutions.

Manupatra Hosts Nationwide Law Teachers Conclave to Strengthen Legal Education

In its commitment to supporting the legal fraternity, Manupatra, a pioneer in legal technology, organised the Law Teachers Conclave across India's East, West, North, and South regions in collaboration with leading law schools. This initiative aimed to enhance learning, development, and digital transformation in legal education.
By hosting the conclave at regional levels, Manupatra sought to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for educators nationwide. The conclaves were organised in partnership with:
West Region Law Teachers Conclave - in association with GNLU, Gandhinagar
South Region Law Teachers Conclave - in association with R.V. University, Bengaluru
North Region Law Teachers Conclave - in association with NLU, Delhi
East Region Law Teachers Conclave - in association with NLU, Odisha
The conclaves witnessed participation from over 1,200 law educators, including full-time, part-time, ad-hoc, and visiting faculty members from across India. These events were supported by the hosting universities and industry bodies such as SILF and GCAI.

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) and Swinburne University of Technology (Swinburne), Australia launched SIMMECT—the 'Swinburne-IITH Manufacturing, Materials, Energy, and Communication Technologies Joint Research Institute.' This initiative aims to strengthen the research collaboration between IITH and Swinburne, fostering cutting-edge advancements with significant industry and societal impact.
SIMMECT will serve as a platform for research and technological development across three key thematic areas:
Materials and Manufacturing – Advancing Surface Coatings, Material Development, Additive manufacturing, and Digital Manufacturing technologies
Energy Transition – Addressing Decarbonisation in Heavy Industry, Critical Minerals processing, and E-waste recycling

IIM Ahmedabad Launches IT Management Programme for Professionals

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) launched a new programme – Information Technology Management for Strategic Business Leadership: A Programme for Future Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs). The six-month IIM Ahmedabad ITMSBL programme seeks to bridge the gap between technology leadership and business strategy and help IT leaders transition from technical specialists to strategic business visionaries. Interested candidates can apply by April 29, 2025.
The programme — marketed by Jaro Education (marketing partner of IIMA's ITMSBL – CIO and CTO programme) — is designed to equip senior IT professionals with the necessary strategic and managerial acumen. The technology leadership training programme will be delivered with Jaro Education, India's online executive education service provider.

IIT-Roorkee Sets Up Standards Clubs across 14 Departments

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee established Standards Clubs across 14 departments in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This initiative aims to instill a culture of quality, safety, and standardisation in engineering and technology education, ensuring students gain crucial insights into national and international standardisation frameworks.
The departments participating in this initiative include Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Water Resources Development and Management, Design, Chemical Engineering, Polymer and Process Engineering, Hydro and Renewable Energy (HRED), and Computer Science and Engineering. These diverse departments will engage in interdisciplinary collaborations, enhancing the scope and impact of standardisation across multiple domains.
