Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Earn Nominations for 67th Grammy Awards
Ricky Kej and Anoushka Shankar are among the Indians nominated for the 67th Grammy Awards.
Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, earned his fourth nomination for "Break of Dawn" in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category, as announced by the Recording Academy.
The category, which includes albums featuring more than 75 per cent new vocal or instrumental new age recordings, also features Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn by sitarist and composer Shankar.
Other nominees in this category are "Warriors of Light" by Radhika Vekaria and "Triveni" by entrepreneur and musician Chandrika Tandon, created in collaboration with flautist Wouter Kellerman and cellist Eru Matsumoto.
The 2025 Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place in February 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Anil Pradhan Wins Rohini Nayyar Prize
Anil Pradhan, co-founder of Young Tinker Foundation, a non-profit organisation working on hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education in underserved areas, was awarded the third Rohini Nayyar Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Rural Development.
The prize has been instituted in the memory of Rohini Nayyar by her family. Nayyar, an economist, served as an IAS officer in the Uttar Pradesh cadre, and worked with the erstwhile Planning Commission of India from 1987 to 2005. She passed away in 2021.
The prize, comprising a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh, a citation and trophy, is given annually by the Nayyar Foundation for Social and Economic Purpose, and is meant for individuals below 40 years in age.

Chiranjeevi Honoured With the Prestigious Award by Amitabh Bachchan
South star Chiranjeevi was honoured with the prestigious Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) National Award in Hyderabad. The actor was felicitated by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. The Akkineni International Foundation established the award in 2005 to recognise artists for their outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.
This year (2024), the event commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of Telugu cinema legend and actor Nagarjuna's father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
