The Return of Raghuji Bhosale's Legendary Sword to Bharat

The Maharashtra government successfully purchased the iconic sword of Raghuji Bhosale I from an auction in London for Rs. 47.15 lakh. The sword, an emblem of the Maratha warrior's valour and legacy, was crafted in the firangi-style with a European-style single-edged blade, gold inlays, and inscriptions in Devanagari script. Raghuji Bhosale I played a pivotal role in consolidating the Maratha Empire and expanding its influence across east-central India. This historic acquisition is seen as a step toward preserving the Maratha culture and heritage.

PM Hails Inclusion of the Gita and Natyashastra in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the inclusion of the Gita and Natyashastra in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register. Modi said that it is a global recognition of India's timeless wisdom and rich culture. He added that the Gita and Natyashastra have nurtured civilisation and consciousness for centuries, and their insights continue to inspire the world.
UNESCO's Memory of the World Register recognises important historical texts, manuscripts, and documents that have influenced societies across generations.

World Art Dubai 2025 Opens with Expanded International Showcase

The Middle East's largest contemporary art fair, World Art Dubai, is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, until April 20th. Now in its 11th edition, the fair builds upon last year's (2024) milestone 10th anniversary celebration with an impressive showcase featuring over 10,000 artworks from more than 400 galleries and solo artists representing 65+ countries.
The event continues to strengthen Dubai's position as a global cultural hub, creating a marketplace where established collectors and first-time buyers alike can discover accessible, original art.

North Korea's Mount Paektu Listed as UNESCO Global Geopark

The North Korea's Mount Paektu, an active stratovolcano on the North Korean-Chinese border, was designated as a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Global Geopark.
UNESCO's executive board approved the recognition, marking the first time a natural reservoir in North Korea has been given a global geopark designation. According to UNESCO's website, it is given to locations that contain sites of "international geological significance managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development."

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha Inaugurates State Level Jatra Utsav

With the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Tripura organised State Level Jatra Utsav in collaboration with Dharmanagar administration at Vivekananda Shardha-Satabarshiki Bhavan, Dharmanagar. In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated State Level Jatra Utsav by lighting the lamp.
Addressing at the inauguration ceremony of State Level Jatra Utsav Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the traditional customs and culture of the state cannot be allowed to disappear under any circumstances. The Department of Information and Culture is restoring the lost customs and cultures.
Jatra groups from different districts of the State are participating in the 13-day State Level Jatra Festival. The 13-day State Level Jatra Festival continues till April 23. The Jatra Festival will not be held on April 14 and 15.
