DST Signs Pact to Boost Indigenous Type-IV CNG Cylinder Manufacturing

The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has signed an agreement with Delhi‑based NTF Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd to set up a manufacturing facility to commercialise indigenous Type-IV composite CNG cylinders. The project supports India’s clean mobility and domestic manufacturing goals by using locally available raw materials and advanced production processes. TDB’s backing reflects the government’s commitment to next‑generation technologies that strengthen sustainable transportation and energy security under the Atmanirbhar Bharat framework. The facility is expected to reduce imports and build a resilient, cost‑competitive clean‑energy supply chain.

JANANI Digital Platform launched to strengthen maternal and child health

JANANI (Journey of Antenatal, Natal and Neonatal Integrated Care) is a digital platform launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to strengthen maternal and child healthcare in India. The system will maintain and monitor health records of women and children through pregnancy, birth and early childhood, enabling continuous care across hospitals and community workers. JANANI aims to improve accessibility, continuity of care and coordination among healthcare workers, government facilities and beneficiaries, reducing fragmentation when records are missing. The platform will integrate with existing schemes and digital health initiatives to streamline screening, immunization, and follow-up visits. NCERT rolls out PRASHAST 2.0 for early disability screening in schools

New Delhi: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) introduced PRASHAST 2.0, a digital Pre-Assessment Holistic Screening Tool for early identification of disabilities in schoolchildren. Upgraded from PRASHAST 1.0, the platform is available on mobile and web and screens for 21 disability types defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The tool supports teachers, principals and special educators by enabling timely interventions, educational adjustments and access to government support schemes. Through integration with the Samagra Shiksha program, PRASHAST 2.0 aims to ensure inclusive education by addressing learning and developmental challenges early. Education officials will train educators to use the tool and monitor progress via dashboards.

Startup Kadapa initiative launched in Andhra Pradesh

Anugraha Narayana Das takes charge as CGDA

Anugraha Narayana Das assumed charge as Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA). He is a 1991-batch officer of the Indian Defense Accounts Service (IDAS) with over three decades of experience in defense finance management and public administration. His appointment aims to strengthen financial transparency, accountability, and efficiency in defense spending. Das holds a degree from Utkal University and studied at the University of Ljubljana (ICPE), with advanced training from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Duke University. In his career, he served as Director in the Ministry of Water Resources, Additional Financial Adviser & Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, and Principal Integrated Financial Adviser at Army Headquarters.
