Deendayal Port Authority Commissions First 'Make in India' 1 Megawatt-scale Green Hydrogen Plant ...
In a historic milestone towards India's clean energy transition, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, commissioned the country's first "Make-in-India" 1 Megawatt Green Hydrogen Plant at Kandla.
The plant was inaugurated by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, in the presence of Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, T.K. Ramachandran, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority, senior officials of Port and L&T.
With this commissioning, DPA became the first port in India to operationalise a Make-In-India Megawatt-scale Green Hydrogen facility, capable of producing approximately 140 metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

Kaziranga Ranks Third Globally in Tiger Density
Kaziranga Tiger Reserve in Assam, famous for its one-horned rhinoceros, has now made headlines for another reason – it has the third-highest tiger density in the world. This was revealed in a report on the status of tigers, released on Global Tiger Day (July 29, 2025) by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
As per the report, 148 tigers were recorded across the 1,307.49 sq. km reserve in 2024. This is a big jump compared to previous years.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi officially inaugurated the massive 435 MW Gorbea Solar Power Plant in Rajasthan, delivered in just under eight months, an impressive feat of speed and sustainability. Spanning 1,250 acres and backed by a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the clean-energy project is expected to generate approximately 755 GWh annually—enough to power nearly 128,000 homes—and reduce carbon emissions by about 705,000 tonnes each year.
