Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan Graces the Inaugural Ramoji Excellence Awards 2025

The Vice-President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, graced the inaugural Ramoji Excellence Awards 2025 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, Telangana, as the Chief Guest.
The Ramoji Excellence Awards were presented in seven categories: Rural Development to Amla Ashok Ruia; Youth Icon to Srikant Bolla; Science and Technology to Prof. Madhavi Latha Gali; Service to Mankind to Akash Tandon; Art and Culture to Prof. Sathupati Prasanna Sree; Journalism to Jaideep Hardikar; and Woman Achievers to Pallabi Ghosh.

Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2025

The annual awards in the genre of children's literature – the Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2025 of the Sahitya Akademi were held in the Triveni Auditorium, Tansen Marg, New Delhi. The awards were presented by the President of the Akademi, Madhav Kaushik. Eminent Gujarati writer, Varsha Das graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and the Vice President of the Akademi, Kumud Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.

ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal to Honour Cinematic Excellence Promoting Peace and Non-Violence at IFFI ...

Instituted at the 46^th International Film Festival of India, the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal is an international honour presented in collaboration with the ICFT Paris under the aegis of UNESCO. The honour is given to an excellent film which promotes peace and inter-cultural dialogue, and honours Mahatma Gandhi's vision of non-violence and peace.

Canadian-Hungarian-British Writer David Szalay Wins Booker Prize for Fiction with His Novel 'Flesh'

Canadian-Hungarian-British writer David Szalay won the Booker Prize for fiction, in November 2025, for "Flesh," the story of an ordinary man's life over several decades in which what isn't on the page is just as important as what is.
Szalay, 51, beat five other finalists, including favourites Andrew Miller and Kiran Desai, to take the coveted literary award, which brings a £50,000 ($66,000) payday and a big boost to the winner's sales and profile.
Doyle said "Flesh" — a book "about living, and the strangeness of living" — emerged as the judges' unanimous choice after a five-hour meeting.
Szalay's book recounts the life of taciturn István, from a teenage relationship with an older woman through time as a struggling immigrant in Britain to denizen of London high society. The author has said he wanted to write about a Hungarian immigrant, and "about life as a physical experience, about what it's like to be a living body in the world."

Melania Trump Honoured with Fox Nation's 'Patriot of the Year' Award

US first lady Melania Trump was awarded Fox Nation's 'Patriot of the Year' award, a year after her husband and US President Donald Trump received the same honour after his 2024 victory over former US vice president and Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris. The first lady accepted the award at a star-studded event hosted by Fox Nation in New York.
First Lady Melania Trump was awarded the 2025 'Patriot of the Year' award by Fox Nation for her humanitarian and social contributions since President Donald Trump's return to office in January. The award, presented at the annual Patriot Awards ceremony in Brookville, New York, celebrated individuals who exemplify the spirit of American patriotism through service, courage, and innovation.
The Patriot Awards, organised annually by Fox Nation since 2019, recognise everyday American heroes who contribute meaningfully to society. Honourees are selected from various fields, including military service, community leadership, and public advocacy. The ceremony features multiple categories such as Heroism, Young Patriot, Salute to Service, and Most Valuable Patriot, with the highest distinction being the Patriot of the Year award.

Manohar Parrikar Yuva Scientist Award 2025 Conferred to Sai Gautam

Sai Gautam Gopalakrishnan, Associate Professor of Materials Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, awarded the Manohar Parrikar Yuva Scientist Award 2025. This prestigious recognition honours young Indian researchers demonstrating outstanding contributions in science and technology, particularly in cutting-edge fields like computational materials science.
The Manohar Parrikar Yuva Scientist Award was Instituted by the Government of Goa to commemorate Manohar Parrikar, former Defence Minister and Goa Chief Minister.
The award recognises young scientists with exceptional contributions in science and technology.
It carries a citation and Rs. 5 lakh cash prize, the highest among national science and technology awards.
