Veteran Director Deb Kumar Bose Passes Away

Renowned film director Deb Kumar Bose, a pivotal figure in the history of Manipuri cinema, passed away. He was 91.
Bose, who directed several Bengali, Assamese and Oriya films, shaped the Manipuri film world with his important contribution. The journey of Manipuri films started with his hands and he won the President's Medal in the 20th National Film Festival in 1972 for making 'Matamgi Manipur' (1972), the first full-length Manipuri feature film.

Nikita Porwal Is Femina Miss India 2024

Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh emerged as the winner of the Femina Miss India 2024 title. This prestigious event took place at Famous Studios in Mumbai, marking the 60th edition of India's iconic beauty pageant.
The Femina Miss India contest featured 30 talented contestants who were state winners representing all 29 states and one from the Union Territories.
Nikita was crowned by Nandini Gupta, the Femina Miss India World 2023 winner, while renowned Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia placed the Miss India sash on her.

Rashmika Mandanna Is National Ambassador for Cyber Safety

Actress Rashmika Mandanna was appointed the National Ambassador for Promoting Cyber Safety by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Animal actress will spearhead a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness about cyber threats and promoting online safety.
Rashmika Mandanna's journey into the realm of cyber safety is rooted in a distressing experience she faced last year. A deepfake video of her was circulated online, raising alarms about the potential dangers of malicious AI technology and highlighting the risks associated with digital content manipulation. This incident not only affected her personally but also ignited broader discussions on the vulnerabilities individuals face in the digital space, particularly with the advent of deepfake technology.
The I4C was established to create a comprehensive framework that enables law enforcement agencies to tackle cyber crime effectively. The center aims to foster coordination among various agencies and provide the necessary resources and support to combat cyber threats.

Renowned Marathi actor Atul Parchure died at the age of 57. Parchure, was a prominent figure in both Marathi and Bollywood cinema.
Parchure's illustrious career saw him grace screens in popular shows such as The Kapil Sharma Show and in films alongside industry stalwarts like Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in All the Best.
His extensive body of work spanned both Bollywood and Marathi cinema, where he was celebrated for his comic timing and ability to portray a wide range of characters.

Former Director of AIIMS Dr. Venugopal Passes Away

Former AIIMS director Dr. P. Venugopal, a pioneer in cardiac surgery, who conducted India's first heart transplant and over 50,000 heart surgeries in his career, passed away.
Hailing from Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, Venugopal introduced advanced Western concepts of cardiac surgery in the early 1970s in India. In his four-decade-long tenure, he headed the AIIMS cardiothoracic centre and later became its dean and director.
Dr. Venugopal was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1998 for his contributions to the field of Medicine. In 2023, he published his memoirs 'Heartfelt', co-authored with his wife Priya Sarkar.
