This appointment marks a new chapter in the hospital's illustrious history and promises to bring fresh perspectives to military healthcare.
Lt Gen Narayan's journey in military medicine began with his enrolment in the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, where he was part of the 1982 ('U') batch. This institution, known for producing some of India's finest military medical professionals, laid the foundation for his remarkable career.
Colombo Security Conclave: India, other Nations Officially Welcome Bangladesh as 5th Member
Bangladesh was officially welcomed as the fifth Member State of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), a grouping that includes India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and the Maldives.
India, Mauritius, Maldives and Sri Lanka welcomed Bangladesh into the grouping at the 8th Deputy National Security Adviser (DNSA) level meeting hosted virtually by Mauritius. Seychelles participated as an Observer State at the meeting.
At the meeting India was represented by Pankaj Kumar Singh, Deputy National Security Adviser (Internal Affairs), Bangladesh was represented by Lt. Gen. Mizanur Rahman Shameem, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division, Prime Minister's Office, Maldives was represented by Major General (Retd.) Hameed Shafeeg, Deputy National Security Adviser, Mauritius was represented by Yoidhisteer Thecka, Principal Coordinator Security Matters in the Prime Minister's Office, Sri Lanka by General LHSC Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Seychelles was represented by Lt Col Michael Hollanda, Commander of Land Force, Seychelles Defence Forces and CSC Secretariat by Acting Secretary Commodore A. D. Weerasinghe.

Azerbaijan Army Participates in "Birlestik-2024" Joint Military Exercises in Kazakhstan
Azerbaijan Army servicemen have arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the "Birlestik-2024" operational-tactical command-staff exercise. This joint military drill, scheduled from July 11 to July 17, will be conducted at the Oymasha training ground and Cape Tokmak in the Caspian Sea. The exercise is part of a collaborative effort between the Defense Ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Azerbaijan's contingent includes commando units from the Land Forces, Parachute descent and search-rescue service personnel, Su-25 aircraft from the Air Force, and patrol and descent ships from the Navy.
The "Birlestik-2024" exercise aims to enhance regional cooperation and readiness by simulating joint operational scenarios. Approximately 4,000 military personnel and 700 pieces of military equipment will be involved, focusing on coordinating a unified response to localise armed conflicts in the region.

The 12th Joint Defence Cooperation Committee Meeting between India & UAE Held in Abu Dhabi
The 12th meeting of the India-UAE Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) concluded in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step in bolstering defence relations between the two nations.
Led by Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad, the Indian delegation met with their UAE counterparts, headed by Brigadier General Staff Jamal Ebrahim Mohamed Almazrooqi. The talks covered a wide range of topics aimed at enhancing bilateral defence and security cooperation.
The meeting focused on various aspects of collaboration, including training cooperation, joint military exercises, defence industrial partnerships, and research and development initiatives. Both sides also discussed the exchange of subject matter experts to benefit from each other's knowledge and experience. Regional security concerns, particularly maritime security, were addressed during the talks.
The India-UAE JDCC was established in 2006. Since then, 11 rounds have been held. The 12th meeting provided an opportunity to further augment India's defence and security relations with the UAE, strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

India unveiled the 'Zorawar' light tank, developed jointly by DRDO and Larsen & Toubro, aimed at bolstering military capabilities in high-altitude environments. First Secretary-Level Meeting Between Defence Ministries of India & Democratic Republic Of Congo
The first Secretary-level meeting between the Defence Ministries of India and the Democratic Republic of Congo was held in New Delhi. The Defence Ministry said that the meeting was aimed at identifying areas for collaboration to fulfil the potential of defence cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held to promote cooperation in training and the defence industry. The Indian delegation also highlighted the significant progress India has made in defence manufacturing capability. The Democratic Republic of Congo side shared the need for modernization of their Armed Forces.
