India Clinches the 2025 WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championship

  • India secured a landmark triumph at the WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championships 2025 in Portimão, Portugal, with three athletes from Auroville contributing significantly to the nation's hard-fought 11–10 win over Germany. Their participation highlights the growing prominence of Auroville's sports ecosystem in nurturing talent for international competitions.
  • The global championship saw widespread participation, with 38 countries, 136 teams and thousands of athletes competing across 10 divisions. India's performance underscored its rising position at the WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championships 2025 (internationally recognised as the World Flying Disc Federation – World Cup 2025).

Marco Bezzecchi Clinches MotoGP 2025 Finale in Valencia

  • The 2025 MotoGP season concluded on a dramatic high note as Marco Bezzecchi clinched a historic victory at the Valencia Grand Prix, becoming the first Aprilia rider to win back-to-back races. This victory, coming just a week after his Portugal triumph, also helped Bezzecchi secure third place overall in the world championship standings, a career-best finish for both rider and team.

Sansad Sports Festival Begins at SMS Stadium

  • The 'Sansad Sports Festival', organised on the theme of 'Fit India, Hit India' by the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, began in November at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan with sports and cultural presentations.
  • More than one lakh Jaipurites are participating in various sports in this festival which will continue till December 25.
  • Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari is be the chief guest of this programme, while the Sports, Youth Affairs, Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore presides over it.
  • These sports are included: Archery, cricket, basketball, sitoliya, volleyball, hockey, football, handball, wrestling, kho-kho, kabaddi, tug of war, mallakhamb, gymnastics and lemon and spoon race etc. 

Sangakkara Returns as Rajasthan Royals' Head Coach

  • Kumar Sangakkara returned as the Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2026, apart from continuing in his role as the Director of Cricket, the franchise announced.
  • Sangakkara had served in the role of head coach from 2021 to 2024, before Rahul Dravid took over the position for IPL 2025. Under Sangakkara, Royals had played the final in 2022 and reached the playoffs in IPL 2024.

Luke Littler Becomes the Youngest World No. 1 after Grand Slam of Darts Triumph

  • Luke Littler created darts history once again as he became the youngest-ever world number one after a stunning run at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton. The 18-year-old English sensation defeated the defending world number one, Luke Humphries, by 16-11 in the final and lifted the title for the second straight year. His dominant 16-9 semi-final victory over Danny Noppert had already guaranteed his rise to the top of the PDC world rankings. With this win, Littler also remained unbeaten in the Grand Slam and proved why he is the new face of the sport.

Kiaan Secures Best Indian Finish at FIA Karting World Cup

  • Kiaan Shah was the highest-placed Indian competitor, finishing 13th in the junior category at the FIA Karting Arrive & Drive World Cup held in Selangor, Malaysia.
  • With four Indians in the fray among 60 drivers, Kiaan contended with a field full of national champions and dealt with other vehicles barging into him, as well as some technical issues with his vehicle.
  • The eventual podium featured the United States' Troy Ferguson in top spot after Japan's Simba Motoda – who passed the chequered flag first – was handed a five-second penalty. Tommy Hart finished second ahead of Tomasz Cichoracki.

Dhanush Wins Air Rifle Gold in Deaflympics

  • Dhanush Srikanth opened the account for India with a gold medal in the men's air rifle event at the Deaflympics in Tokyo.
  • India's Mohammed Murtaza Vania finished with a final score of 250.1 and took the silver medal while Korea's Baek Seunghak settled for bronze with a score of 223.6.
  • Apart from his gold medal, Srikanth also set a new Deaf Final World Record of 252.2.

ISSF World C'ship: Esha Singh Clinches Bronze in Women's 25m Pistol Event

  • Esha Singh secured a bronze medal in the women's 25m Pistol Olympic event at the Olympic Shooting Range in Cairo, Egypt, marking her first individual world championship medal. The Indian shooter scored 30 in the final, finishing behind China's Yao Qianxun with silver (38 points) and Korea's Olympic Champion Yang Jiin who won gold (40 points).
  • India concluded its campaign at the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol Cairo 2025 with a historic medal haul in Olympic events, securing one gold, four silver, and two bronze medals. Overall, India ranked third with three gold, five silver, and four bronze medals, behind leaders China with 10 gold and second-placed Korea with six gold medals.

Carlos Alcaraz Lifts Trophy for Year-end No. 1 Player

  • Carlos Alcaraz lifted the trophy for the year-end No. 1 tennis player.
  • After a scintillating tussle with Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz secured the ranking by sealing a sweep of his three group-stage matches at the ATP Finals.
  • The Spaniard was presented with the trophy at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
  • It is the second time in his career that Alcaraz has ended the year at the top of the rankings.

Shane Watson joins Kolkata Knight Riders as assistant coach for IPL 2026

  • Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson was appointed assistant coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of the IPL 2026 season, joining a team management that includes Abhishek Nayar (head coach) and Dwayne Bravo (mentor).
  • Watson and former New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee are new additions to the KKR coaching staff, which has been overhauled after the team finished seventh in IPL 2025.

ICC Player of the Month October 2025

  • The ICC Players of the Month awards for October 2025 were announced, with South Africa taking both honours. All-rounder Senuran Muthusamy and women's team captain Laura Wolvaardt were recognised for their stellar performances in Test cricket and the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, respectively.
