Flamingo Festival 2025 Concludes in Andhra Pradesh

The three-day Flamingo Festival 2025 in Andhra Pradesh concluded with calls to protect the rich biodiversity of the region, specifically in Pulicat Lake and Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary. The event, which attracted numerous visitors, particularly bird watchers and photographers, was hailed as a major success. The closing ceremony saw the participation of Ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Anagani Satya Prasad, who expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for the revival of the festival, which had been dormant for some time.
Held across several prominent locations in the region, the Flamingo Festival served as a platform to raise awareness about the ecological significance of these areas.

Gaan-Ngai 2025: A Celebration of Unity and Tradition in Manipur

The Gaan-Ngai festival, the largest cultural and religious post-harvest celebration of the Zeliangrong community, was held with grand celebrations in various regions of Manipur. Known for its vibrant cultural performances and traditional rituals, Gaan-Ngai brought together the people in a spirit of unity and celebration. The festival marked the transition from the old year to the new, with a focus on peace, prosperity, and community healing.
The festival was celebrated by the Zeliangrong people, consisting of the Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Puimei tribes.

Hatti Tribes of Himachal Begin Boda Tyohar Festival in Trans-Giri Region

The vibrant Boda Tyohar festival, the largest annual celebration for the Hatti tribes of the Trans-Giri region in Himachal Pradesh, kicked off with much enthusiasm and traditional fervour. The festival, which holds immense cultural significance for the three lakh-strong Hatti community, is set to continue throughout the month and will culminating in the end of the 'Magha' month (February 2025).

Toda Tribe Celebrates Modhweth Festival

The Toda tribe residing in the Nilgiris Hills of Tamil Nadu, celebrated their traditional 'Modhweth' festival to mark the New Year.
It is one of the oldest ethnic groups residing in the Nilgiris Hills in Tamil Nadu, divided into five clans, namely: Paiki, Pekkan, Kuttan, Kenna and Todi.
They have their own language, without a script.
Their community is divided into two endogamous groups, namely Tharthazoll and Theveioll.
To maintain the social harmony or solidarity among the Toda tribal population of Todas are controlled for many generations by their own traditional Government called 'Noim'.

Art from Indonesia, Idols from Fiji: Exhibition at Diaspora Event Portrays Ramayana's Cross-borde...

A life-size piñata of Ravan procured from Mexico; a Ravanhatta, the musical instrument said to be played by the mythological figure, brought from Sri Lanka; Ramayana puppets and paintings from Indonesia; and idols of Ram and Hanuman from Fiji.
An exhibition at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Bhubaneswar attempts to showcase the Hindu epic Ramayana to the Indian diaspora to remind them of a shared cultural legacy.
The exhibition — Vishwaroop Ram: The Universal Legacy of Ramayana — portrays Ram as the Maryada Purushottam or the 'ideal man' who continues to represent the essence of true heroism while idols of Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita are on display.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the exhibition that tells the story about the influence of the Ramayana on art, culture and spirituality across the world through a diverse collection of artefacts from countries inspired by the epic's narrative, characters and events.
