El Salvador Abolishes Presidential Term Limits

El Salvador's parliament scrapped the presidential term limits, paving the way for President Nayib Bukele to remain in office indefinitely.
The controversial move allows Bukele to seek an additional term beyond that previously allowed under the country's Constitution.
The constitutional amendment passed by President Bukele's ruling New Ideas Party, which holds a majority in Congress, paved the way for indefinite presidential re-election, increases term lengths from five to six years, and eliminates runoff elections.

Trump Secures Trade Deal with EU

The United States and the European Union reached a last-minute trade agreement that will impose a 15% tariff on EU goods entering the US, replacing the previously threatened 30% rate. PM Modi and President Muizzu reviewed the progress in implementing the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a 'Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership'.
