Mauritanian President Comfortably Wins Re-election
Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani was re-elected as head of state following national vote, winning comfortably in the first round without the need for a run-off.
The former Army Chief won just over 56 per cent of the vote, the Independent National Electoral Commission said, giving him a second five-year term during which Mauritania is set to become a gas producer.
