Rapid Test for Urinary Tract Infections Wins Longitude Prize

A high-tech, rapid point-of-care test for UTIs (Urinary Tract Infection), PA-100 AST System, developed by the Sweden-based in vitro diagnostic company, Sysmex Astrego won the £10 million Longitude Prize on Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) prize.
Of the 10-million-pound Longitude Prize, £2 million was awarded to various innovators to refine their technology and the final winner receives £8 million.
The winner, PA-100 AST System, is a high-tech, transformative, rapid, point-of-care test for UTIs that is seen as a game changer in the diagnostic sphere.
The winner of the Longitude Prize is set to spearhead the list of emerging rapid diagnostic technologies in a transformative manner.

One Swaadumlabh Production Start-up Incubated at PAU Honoured

'One Swaadumlabh Production,' a start-up incubated at the Punjab Agricultural University's Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI), was honoured at the National Cooperative Spice Fair 2024, held in Jaipur of Rajasthan. The National Cooperative Spice Fair 2024, organized by the Cooperation Department, Government of Rajasthan, and Rajasthan State Cooperative Consumer Union Ltd., Jaipur, was a grand celebration of innovation and excellence in spice production. Held at the Jawahar Kala Kendra, the fair provided a platform for showcasing the best in spice production and processing.
'One Swaadumlabh Production' was awarded for its outstanding contribution and excellence in spice production and training.

SEBI Bags 'Best Conduct of Business Regulator' Award by the Asian Banker

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) was given 'Best Conduct of Business Regulator' award in Asia Pacific by the Asian Banker for its role in enhancing the regulatory framework for securities markets in India. The award was received by SEBI's Whole Time Member Kamlesh Chandra Varshney in a ceremony held in Hong Kong.

C-DOT Wins UN's WSIS 2024 'Champion' Award

The Ministry of Communication informed that Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the premier Telecom R&D centre of the Government of India was awarded UN's WSIS 2024'Champion' Award for the project "Mobile-Enabled Disaster Resilience through Cell Broadcast emergency Alerting", recognised under AI, C-7, E-environment, in the category of 'Benefits in all aspects of life – E-environment.
The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)+20 Forum 2024, a High-Level Event, conducted by International Telecom Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland, recognised the project of C-DOT's Cell Broadcast Emergency Alerting Platform for its outstanding contribution towards strengthening the implementation of the WSIS outcomes and underscores C-DOT's commitment to leveraging technology for societal impact.
