World Radiography Day

World Radiography Day (WRD) is celebrated on November 8 each year. The date marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.
On November 8, 1895, Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, a German physicist, discovered x-radiations. This was an accidental discovery while he was doing experiments on fluorescence produced in vacuum tubes.

National Cancer Awareness Day

Uttarakhand Foundation Day

Known as the 'Land of the Gods' (Devbhumi), the state is famous for its scenic beauty and numerous Hindu pilgrimage sites. Uttarakhand was officially formed on November 9, 2000, after a long struggle for statehood due to the region's cultural, geographical, and administrative differences with Uttar Pradesh.
Initially called Uttaranchal, the state's name was changed to Uttarakhand in 2007.

Russia Celebrates National Unity Day

Russia celebrated National Unity Day on November 4, marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Kremlin from Polish invaders in 1612. On the occasion, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is defending its sovereignty today, as it did in 1612.
Putin laid a wreath at the well-known statue of Merchant Kuzma Minin and Prince Dmitry Pozharsky on Red Square.
The National United Day was introduced in 2005 under President Putin to replace the 'Great October Socialist Revolution', which was celebrated on November 7 with historic military parades at Red Square until the collapse of the USSR.

The International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict, observed on November 6 each year, is a significant global initiative aimed at raising awareness about the severe consequences of war and armed conflicts on the environment.
The International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict was established on November 5, 2001, by the United Nations General Assembly, during Kofi Atta Annan's tenure as secretary-general.
The occasion calls on individuals, nations, and organisations to speak out and reiterate their commitment to protecting our threatened planet, even in the face of armed aggression.
The 2025 theme, 'Environment + Conflict = Peace Risk', stresses the urgent need to protect nature and resources during war to ensure peace and sustainability.
