Vice President inaugurates USISPF Tourism Leadership Summit 2026
Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Tourism Leadership Summit 2026 on 24 February 2026 in New Delhi, at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum office. The day‑long event, organised by USISPF in collaboration with the Sankala Foundation, gathered Union Ministers, senior government officials, global hospitality executives, multilateral representatives and conservation experts. Delegates discussed strategies to strengthen India's tourism ecosystem and expand U.S.–India travel and investment ties. The summit highlighted policy initiatives to promote sustainable tourism growth, infrastructure, marketing and cross‑border collaboration to boost job creation and regional development.

Meghalaya CM Announces 70% Subsidy for Homestays Ahead of National Games 2027
Shillong, 12 February 2026 — Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced a 70 percent subsidy for homestays ahead of the National Games 2027. The government aims to boost community‑based lodging in parallel with five‑star resort development planned at Tura. The subsidy supports entrepreneurs to establish sports hostels owned and operated by local families after the Games. Officials say the scheme will diversify tourism infrastructure, create livelihoods, and encourage participation from rural areas. Project work includes Jogulamba Devi Temple at Alampur, Ramappa Temple at Mulugu and the Bhadradri-Kothagudem area, with further improvements at Renuka Yellamma Temple. Officials say the initiative will enhance visitor experience, generate local employment and promote heritage assets. Nagpur aims to become global medical and wellness tourism hub

Meghalaya will host its first Spice Festival in Mumbai from 30 January to 1 February 2026 at Bandra Kurla Complex.
