The 97th Academy Awards were held on March 3 at Los Angeles, Hollywood, California.
Adrien Brody and Mikey Madison took home the coveted honours of Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. Sean Baker's Anora was also crowned Best Film of the night.
The 97th Academy Awards saw an unexpected moment when Conan O'Brien, the first-time host, surprised viewers by addressing Indian audiences in Hindi.

Lulu Group Clinches Top Honours with Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award

Lulu Group, the leading retail giant, was awarded the prestigious Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award for its outstanding contributions to the UAE's agricultural sector and sustainability initiatives. The award was presented to Ashraf Ali M.A., Executive Director of Lulu Group, by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, at a ceremony held at the Emirates Palace. Animal Welfare Board of India to Honour Champions of Animal Protection

The 'Prani Mitra and Jeev Daya Award Ceremony' was organised by the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), a statutory body of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. AWBI has been established under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960 to ensure that animals are not subjected to unnecessary pain or suffering. The event was graced by Union Ministers of State, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel and George Kurian.
The event marked the release of four important books for effective implementation of rules and guidelines for animal welfare in India. These books will serve as vital tools for veterinarians, policymakers and field officials, to help ensure timely and effective responses for animal welfare. These include Handbook for Veterinary Officers on Animal Welfare Laws; Law Enforcement Handbook on Animal Welfare Laws; Animal Law Handbook for Urban Local Bodies and Revised Animal Birth Control (ABC) module for Street Dogs Population management, rabies eradication and reducing man-dog conflict.
This year's (2025) 'Prani Mitra Awards' were conferred to the following individuals/ organisations under five categories:
Advocacy – Individual to Akhil Jain, Raipur, Chhattisgarh
Innovative Idea – Individual to Ramesh Bhai Veljibhai Ruparelia, Gondal, Gujarat
Life Time Animal Service – Individual to Harnarayan Soni, Osiyan, Jodhpur Rajasthan
Animal Welfare Organisation (AWO) to Sri Sri 1008 Sriram Ratandasji Vaishanav Go Sewa Samiti, Karahdham, Morena, Madhya Pradesh.
Corporate / PSUs / Government bodies / Cooperatives to Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust, Jamnagar, Gujarat

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2025 Full List of Winners

The 31st Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, celebrating outstanding performances in film and television. Hosted by Kristen Bell and streamed live on Netflix, the event honoured actors and ensembles for their exceptional work over the past year.
A major highlight of the evening was Jane Fonda receiving the SAG Life Achievement Award for her outstanding career and humanitarian efforts. In her speech, she emphasised the importance of empathy and unions in the entertainment industry.
