Maldives Banned Israeli Passport Holders

The Maldives banned the entry of visitors with Israeli passports amid growing public anger over its ongoing war in Gaza.
The decision, a sign of protest against Israel's ongoing war in Gaza, to ban Israeli passport holders came amid growing pressure on President Muizzu from Opposition parties as well as his allies in the government.

India to Host IATA's Annual Global Airlines Summit after 42 Years

India will host the world's most premier aviation event, the annual general meeting (AGM) of the 81st International Air Transport Association (IATA), in 2025, after a gap of 42 years.
IndiGo, India's largest airline by market share, will be the host airline of the AGM and the World Air Transport Summit that will take place in Delhi between June 8-10, 2025, IATA announced.
About 330 airlines, comprising more than 80 per cent of global air traffic, are members of IATA.
The decision to host the 81st IATA AGM in India was made at the 80th IATA AGM in Dubai. This will be the third time the IATA AGM has convened in Delhi, having previously visited India in 1958 and 1983.

New Zealand Visa Rule: Mandatory English Translations from 2024

Starting June 17, 2024, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) will require all supporting documents submitted with visitor visa applications to be in English. Applicants must provide certified translations of any documents originally in a foreign language. This new policy aims to streamline the application process by reducing the time taken to review non-English documents.
Applications submitted without the required English translations are likely to be declined. This new measure underscores the importance of ensuring all documents are properly translated to avoid any processing delays or potential rejections.

India's Global Travel & Tourism Index Rank up at 39th: WEF Index

India's rank on the World Economic Forum's Travel & Tourism Development Index 2024 has risen to 39th place, with global tourism activities returning to pre-pandemic levels, the annual report showed. While the US topped the list, India is ranked highest in South Asia and among the lower-middle-income economies.
India was ranked 54th in the previously published index in 2021, though changes made to the index parameters limit its comparability to earlier years.
After the US, Spain, Japan, France and Australia figure among the top five in the 2024 list.

UAE Launches New 10-year Blue Residency Visa for Tree-huggers

The United Arab Emirates launched a 10-year Blue Residency visa for individuals who have made exceptional efforts and contributions to protecting the environment, whether marine or land.
The new visa was announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
