Telangana and West Bengal Account for 70% of Zero-Enrolment Government Schools

A government education data release shows that over 65,000 government schools across India reported fewer than 10 students in 2024–25, with 5,149 institutions having zero enrolment. Telangana and West Bengal together accounted for about 70% of zero-enrolment schools, highlighting regional disparities in attendance.
