India’s First PPP Medical Colleges to Start in MP Tribal Districts

India will establish its first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh’s tribal districts Dhar and Betul. The foundation stone ceremony, attended by Health Minister and Chief Minister, marked the project as part of broader reforms to expand medical education through PPPs. The plan includes two more PPP medical colleges in Katni and Panna, with a wider strategy to improve access to clinical training and healthcare in tribal regions. The initiative aims to raise local healthcare standards and provide opportunities for aspiring medical professionals in underserved areas.

Sharadchandra Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence Inaugurated in Baramati

Industrialist Gautam Adani inaugurated the Sharadchandra Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence in Baramati, Maharashtra, in December 2025. Telangana and West Bengal Account for 70% of Zero-Enrolment Government Schools

A government education data release shows that over 65,000 government schools across India reported fewer than 10 students in 2024–25, with 5,149 institutions having zero enrolment. Telangana and West Bengal together accounted for about 70% of zero-enrolment schools, highlighting regional disparities in attendance. The report notes a 24% rise in institutions with very low or no enrolment between 2022–23 and 2024–25, now constituting 6.42% of all government schools. This data signals challenges in infrastructure, enrolment retention, and equitable access to education across states, underscoring the need for targeted interventions and policy reforms.

The award was conferred by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the ARISE 2025 national conclave held in New Delhi. This recognition highlights PGIMER's growing importance in supporting the Government of India with evidence-based, cost-effective, and equitable healthcare decisions.

India to Get Its First Forest University in Gorakhpur

India plans its first Forest University in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, to advance forestry, wildlife conservation, and environmental sciences. Apollo SHINE Foundation partners to promote college student preventive care

Apollo SHINE Foundation, part of Apollo Hospitals, partnered with an AI‑driven health platform to promote preventive care among college students at DG Vaishnav College, Chennai. The program targets students identified as at risk for non‑communicable diseases (NCDs) through a screening initiative led by Apollo SHINE and provides early access to the EatGPT digital health platform by Tweak & Eat.
