World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day is observed on July 28 each year to raise awareness about hepatitis, a group of infectious diseases known as hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. This date was chosen to honour the birthday of Dr. Baruch Blumberg, the Nobel Laureate who discovered the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and developed a diagnostic test and vaccine for it.
This date was selected to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Baruch Blumberg, the Nobel Laureate and the American doctor; who found the hepatitis B infection (HBV) in the 1960s and found a diagnostic test and vaccine for it.
The first community-driven World Hepatitis Day was organised by the 2007-established World Hepatitis Alliance.
'It's time to act' is the theme for World Hepatitis Day 2024.

CRPF Foundation Day

On July 27, 1939, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was established as the Crown Representatives Police in response to political turmoil within princely states. It has since evolved into a key central paramilitary force of India, playing a critical role in maintaining internal security. The force was renamed the Central Reserve Police Force on December 28, 1949, following a legislative act, and now operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Kargil Vijay Diwas

Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrated every year in July 26, is a significant day in the history of India. It is observed to pay tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during the Kargil War of 1999.
It commemorates the country's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999 and marks the successful culmination of Operation Vijay. In this operation, the Indian Armed Forces reclaimed the territories in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir that had been infiltrated by Pakistani soldiers and militants.

World Drowning Prevention Day

World Drowning Prevention Day, declared in April 2021 by General Assembly resolution A/RES/75/273, is held annually on July 25. This global advocacy event serves as an opportunity to highlight the tragic and profound impact of drowning on families and communities and to offer life-saving solutions to prevent it.
The Theme for World Drowning Prevention Day 2024 is 'Anyone can drown, no one should'.
This powerful theme serves as a reminder of the universal vulnerability to drowning and the imperative to prevent such tragedies.

World Embryologist Day

World Embryologist Day, or World IVF Day, is celebrated every year on July 25. It gives us a chance to recognise the amazing work that embryologists from the past and present have accomplished.
July 25 was chosen as World IVF Day because it is the birthday of Louise Brown, the first baby ever born through in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Louise was born in Oldham, United Kingdom, on this day in 1978.

Income Tax Day

India celebrates the Income Tax Day, or Aaykar Divas, every year on July 24. This day commemorates the historical evolution of tax administration in India and the ongoing reforms that aim to enhance tax compliance and simplify the process for taxpayers.
On this day, Income tax was first levied as a duty in India in 1860. The department celebrated this day for the first time in 2010 marking 150 years of the introduction of Income tax in India. This year marks the 165th occasion of National Income Tax Day.

National Thermal Engineer Day

National Thermal Engineer Day is celebrated on 24 July to appreciate the contribution of thermal engineers in everyday life. This day is celebrated to recognise the hard work and dedication of those in thermal engineering. The day commemorates the importance of thermal management in the electronics industry and the engineers and companies that make it possible. Irrespective of the market sector without the contributions of thermal engineers, the electronics that are an integral part of today's life and the cornerstone of our nation's technological advancement would not be possible.
