NASA's Oldest Astronaut Returns to Earth after 220 Days in Space

NASA's oldest serving astronaut Donald Pettit celebrated his 70th by returning to Earth after seven months aboard the International Space Station.
Pettit landed near Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan, on April 20, the day he turned 70 �" alongside Russian crewmates Alexei Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner.
This was the fourth space mission, bringing his total time spent in orbit to over 18 months across his nearly 30-year NASA career.

Long-delayed ISRO-NASA Mission NISAR May Finally Be Launched in June

The long-awaited NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Satellite) mission, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the space agencies of India and the US, may finally be launched in June.
ISRO chairman V. Narayanan revealed this in a meeting he had with Science Minister Jitendra Singh to update him on India's space activities in the coming months.
NISAR is meant to make extremely granular observations of the Earth at regular intervals.

In a groundbreaking development, the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), in collaboration with Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (STL), successfully tested India's first Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) transmission over a 4-core Multi-Core Fibre (MCF). This achievement marks a significant leap forward in India's efforts to establish a secure and cost-effective national quantum communication network.

QpiAI Launches India's First Full-Stack Quantum Computer with 25 Qubits

Bengaluru-based start-up QpiAI, selected under the National Quantum Mission (NQM) coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), launched one of India's most powerful quantum computers. Announced on World Quantum Day, the system features 25 superconducting qubits and represents the country's first full-stack quantum computing platform.
Named QpiAI-Indus, the system combines advanced quantum hardware, scalable control and optimised software to enable hybrid computing. It integrates next-generation quantum processors, AI-driven solutions and a Quantum-HPC software platform to support a range of applications.
