Retired Supreme Court Justice Arun Mishra Appointed BCCI Ombudsman

Justice Arun Mishra, a former Supreme Court judge, was appointed as the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The announcement was made and marking another significant milestone in his illustrious career. Justice Mishra's extensive legal expertise and leadership experience make him well-suited for the dual responsibilities of ensuring ethical practices and addressing disputes within the BCCI.

Justice Arindam Sinha Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court

The Centre notified the appointment of Justice Arindam Sinha, the senior-most Judge of Orissa High Court as its Acting Chief Justice. The move cames as the present Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh retired on January 19, 2025.
He was enrolled as an Advocate in March 1991 and practised for 22 years mostly before the Calcutta High Court. He predominantly practised Civil, Commercial, Arbitration and Constitutional laws and specialised in Civil laws.
He was elevated to the Calcutta High Court as an Additional Judge in October 2013 and was appointed as a permanent Judge in March 2016. Subsequently, he was transferred and took oath as Judge of the Orissa High Court in October 2021.

Justice Sujoy Paul to Take over as Acting Chief Justice of Telangana High Court

Justice Sujoy Paul was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
A notification was issued in this regard by the Department of Law and Justice, Government of India exercising the power conferred to it under Article 223 of the Constitution.
The notification came following the transfer of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe of the Telangana High Court to the Bombay High Court as Chief Justice.
Justice Sujoy Paul enrolled as an advocate with the Madhya Pradesh Bar Council in 1990. In 2014, he was appointed as a permanent judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and served as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court till he was transferred to the Telangana High Court in 2024.

Centre Clears Appointment of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya as Delhi High Court Chief Justice

The Centre cleared the appointment of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.
Justice Upadhyaya was appointed as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court in November 2011 and became a permanent judge in August 2013.
He took oath as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court in July 2023.

Centre Clears Appointment of Justice Alok Aradhe as Bombay High Court Chief Justice

The Central government cleared the proposal to appoint Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium had earlier in January made the recommendation.
Justice Aradhe was appointed as an additional judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in 2009, and as a permanent judge in 2011.
He was transferred to the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in 2016 and served as its Acting Chief Justice for 3 months in 2018. After that, he took oath as a judge of the Karnataka High Court on November 17, 2018 and served as Acting Chief Justice for a few months in 2022.
In July 2023, he was appointed as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Centre Appoints Justice Ashutosh Kumar as Acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court

The Central Government notified the appointment of Justice Ashutosh Kumar as the acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
This development came after the Union Government notified the appointment of Chief Justice K. Vinod Chandran as a judge of the Supreme Court of India.
