Ahmedabad International Book Festival

  • The Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025 opened at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre to an 11-day (November 13 to 23) celebration of books.
  • Jointly organised by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the National Book Trust of India, the event, inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, saw a massive turnout from schools and book lovers across the city.
  • Described as Gujarat's largest open classroom without boundaries, the festival features multiple learning zones. The Children's Corner (NCCL Pavilion) hosts morning sessions for school groups with storytelling, puppet theatre, and creative workshops.
  • The Gyan Ganga zone holds writing and design studios, workshops on poetry, drama, and film scripts, along with hands-on activities like zine-making, painting, and terracotta crafting. Another pavilion hosts daily inter-school contests celebrating the centenary of school boards.

'Project Y' Wins Best Film at London East Asia Film Festival 2025

  • Director Lee Hwan's crime noir film 'Project Y,' starring Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo, secured the Best Film Award in the competition at the 10th London East Asia Film Festival (LEAFF) held in November 2025 in London.
  • LEAFF also honoured Kang Yoon-sung's 'Run to The' with the Future of Asia Cinema Award.

Manipur Celebrates Chavang Kut Festival Tomorrow, Marking Gratitude for a Bountiful Harvest

  • In Manipur, the post harvest festival of Chin -Kuki-Mizo communities- Chavang Kut held in November 2025. The festival is celebrated on the first of November every year across the Northeast Region where Chin-Kuki-Mizo communities reside. The festival is observed to mark the end of the harvesting season and also to thank the almighty for a good harvest season. 
  • Chavang Kut is the celebration of a beautiful and culturally rich festival in which cultural dances, folk songs, indigenous games and other traditional activities are performed by Chin-Kuki-Mizo communities. Considering the popularity of the festival, Chavang Kut was accorded recognition as a State Holiday in the year 1982.
  • The Manipur Governor greeted the people of Manipur especially Chin-Kuki-Mizo communities at the Chavang Kut Festival. In his message, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla said that the festival is a celebration of gratitude, unity and bountiful harvest and it reflects the deep connection between humanity and nature, reminding us to value hard work, harmony and togetherness.

Dharamshala International Film Festival

  • The Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) is holding its 14th edition, which is taking place from October 30 to November 2, 2025, at the Tibetan Children's Village in Upper Dharamshala.
  • Over the past decade, DIFF has emerged as one of India's leading independent film festivals, known for its thoughtful curation and for creating a space where filmmakers and audiences can engage in dialogue away from the commercial pressures of mainstream cinema.
  • Since its inception in 2012, the Dharamshala International Film Festival has drawn filmmakers and audiences from around the world to the Himalayan foothills, offering a mix of pathbreaking cinema, in-depth discussions, and community engagement.

PM Participates in International Aryan Summit 2025

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the International Aryan Summit 2025 at Rohini, New Delhi. The programme formed a key part of the Jyāna Jyoti Festival commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Ji and 150 years of Arya Samaj's service to society.
  • The Summit brought together representatives from Arya Samaj units across India and abroad — reflecting the universal relevance of Maharshi Dayanand's reformist ideals and the organisation's global outreach. It also featured an exhibition titled '150 Golden Years of Service', showcasing Arya Samaj's transformative journey through its contributions in education, social reform, and spiritual upliftment.
  • The Summit aimed to honour Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati's reformist and educational legacy, celebrate 150 years of Arya Samaj's service in education, social reform, and nation-building, and inspire global awareness of Vedic principles and Swadeshi values in alignment with Viksit Bharat 2047.
