India, UK Unite for Women in Space Leadership Programme to Boost Inclusivity

  • In a bid to promote women's leadership in science and research, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) collaborated with the British Council to launch the 'Women in Space Leadership Programme' (WiSLP). This initiative is set to create a framework for women's leadership that assists institutions in enhancing their gender-inclusive policies and practices, particularly in the fields of space sciences and related areas.
  • The development of WiSLP will involve consultations with experts from India, with Coventry University acting as the delivery partner, as stated by the British Council. The launch took place during a design workshop at the Department of Science and Technology (DST) office in New Delhi.
  • The DST launched the programme in collaboration with the British Council of the UK, as part of the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI).

IIT Madras Professor Receives Award from International Construction Body

  • Professor Ravindra Gettu from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) received the prestigious title of 'Honorary Member' from RILEM (International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems, and Structures).

Fourteen Indian Institutes Get Spot in QS Global MBA & Business Master's Rankings 2025

  • Fourteen Indian full-time MBA programmes secured a position in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds global list for 2025 released in September. IIM Bangalore is the best performer among the Indian institutes, however, it has dropped out of the world's top 50 ranking. The other three Indian MBA programmes that have secured a spot in the top 100 are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and the Indian School of Business.
  • Moreover, there are three new entries — IIM Kozhikode made its debut in the 151-200 band, the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and Somaiya Vidyavihar University featured in the 251+ band.

Ashoka University to Establish Isaac Centre for Public Policy

  • Ashoka University announced the establishment of the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP), under which new public policy programmes will be launched. The centre will also commission advanced interdisciplinary research.
  • It has been established through a grant from the Ajit Isaac Foundation (AIF), a philanthropic organisation created by the Founder & Chairman of Quess Corp Ltd, Ajit Isaac and his wife, Sarah Isaac, who also serve as founders and trustees of Ashoka University.
  • The Centre will work and collaborate with leading public, private and non-profit sector stakeholders to identify research gaps linked with policy making and implementation. Leveraging experience of leading experts from within and beyond the university, it will engage with policy on ongoing basis, the institute stated.

IIT Roorkee Strengthens Global Ties with Uzbekistan
