IIM Bangalore Launches Programme for Senior Professionals, Application Underway
IIM Bangalore launched a programme for senior professionals in Global Capability Centres (GCCs). Classes in the new programme titled 'Leadership Programme to Build Resilient GCCs' will start on July 24.
Designed for professionals with 15+ years of experience and currently in leadership positions in GCCs, the programme will be held for 10 days and be spread across four months. The programme is aimed at helping leaders navigate an increasingly complex business environment and drive long-term value creation.

A two-day National Workshop on Multi-Disciplinary Education and Research Universities (MERU) under Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) conclued at ICAR, New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the North Eastern Region, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar.
Dr. Sukanta Majumdar highlighted the importance of NEP 2020, which empowers the youth, modernises institutions, and blends India's ancient wisdom with modern innovation.
During this two-day seminar twelve important sessions were held on UGC Regulations for NEP Implementation (Status and Challenges); Clustering and Collaboration for Multidisciplinary Education; Holistic Education through Integration of Skilling and Industry Connect (NHEQF, NCrF); Employability through apprenticeship & internship and Future of Work and Courses in Emerging Areas; Digital Initiatives (SWAYAM, SWAYAM-Plus, SATHEE, APAAR, AI); Equity and Access to Higher Education; Indian Knowledge System; e-Governance (SAMARTH); Research, Innovation & Internationalization; Promoting Indian Languages in Higher Education; Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Program – Capacity Building of Faculty of Higher Education; and Providing Quality Education: Accreditation and Ranking (NAAC, NIRF, IQAC). Eminent academicians and officials will share their insight in these sessions.
University of York Signs MoU with Maharashtra Government to Set up its First Campus in Mumbai
The University of York signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government for the setting up of its first campus in Mumbai. This came after the university's Vice-Chancellor Professor Charlie Jeffery discussed the initiative with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ongoing World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai.
The memorandum for launching the campus for the university, which is a part of the Russell Group, was officially signed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

AI Literacy Curriculum Framework to be Launched for Students from Class 6 to 10 in Delhi
An Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy-based curriculum will be launched on May 8 for students of Classes 6 to 10 in Delhi. The curriculum framework, AI Samarth, will be launched by the Central Square Foundation (CSF). It has been developed in partnership with the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI at IIT-Madras.
It has been designed for creating an environment which enables safe and ethical use, as well as knowledge and awareness of AI, focused on children between age groups of 11-14 years.
The initiative is geared towards developing a comprehensive AI literacy curriculum framework for both students and teachers, and building an open-source content stack which can be accessed by them in four languages — Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Odia and English.

IIT Kanpur Sets Up AI School with Wadhwani Foundation
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) partnered with the Wadhwani Foundation to launch the Wadhwani School of Advanced Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems for advanced AI, cyber-security, robotics and AI policy, and nurturing interdisciplinary teams of faculty, researchers and students in state-of-the-art laboratories.
The collaboration was formalised through a MoU signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The new school will act as a super hub in Wadhwani Innovation Network.

IIM-Bangalore Tops Indian Institutions in QS Executive MBA Rankings 2025
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore ranked the highest among Indian institutions in the QS Executive MBA rankings 2025. IIM Bangalore stood at rank 50, down from 41 last year. It is among the seven Indian institutions that feature in the QS Executive MBA rankings this year (2025), out of a total of 233 of the world's best executive MBA programmes. Of the seven, four are private institutions, and the other three are IIMs.

The Ministry of tribal affairs and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) announced the setting up of 'Space Labs' in 75 Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) across 19 states in the country.
Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India establishes EMRS to impart quality education to ST children thereby enabling them to avail of opportunities in high and professional educational courses and get gainful employment in various sectors. EMRS in addition to imparting high quality education also takes care of their nutrition and overall health and development. As on date there are 470 functional EMRS across the country.
BPCL announced that it will support the tribal affairs Ministry under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to set up the Space Labs.
Through this initiative, the Ministry seeks to bridge educational gaps and open new avenues for tribal youth in the fields of space science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM). By providing exposure to space sciences at a young age, the ministry aims to lay the foundation for nurturing future scientists, technologists, and innovators from tribal communities. This project marks a significant step towards mainstreaming tribal students into India's scientific advancement. It reflects the Government's broader efforts under the NEP 2020 framework to create equitable and inclusive educational opportunities for all sections of society.
The initiative will be technically supported by the Space tutor agencies recognized by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
