International Youth Day

It was first celebrated on August 12, 2000, and since then, the day has been used to educate the general public.
  • The 2024 theme for International Youth Day is 'From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development'.

World Elephant Day

World Biofuel Day

  • World Biofuel Day is observed annually on August 10 to raise awareness about the significance of biofuels as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels. World Lion Day

  • It was co-founded by Dereck and Beverly Joubert, a husband-and-wife team who recognised the urgent need to highlight the declining lion populations and the threats they were encountering in their natural habitats.
  • In collaboration with "National Geographic," the Jouberts initiated the Big Cat Initiative (B.C.I.) in 2009.
  • Since then, World Lion Day has been observed annually on August 10. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the conservation challenges faced by lions and to celebrate the beauty and significance of these iconic large felines.

International Day of World's Indigenous People
