Children's Day

Children's Day is celebrated on November 14 across India every year. It's celebrated in commemoration of the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The day is celebrated to honour Pandit Nehru, who was also popularly known as 'Chacha Nehru', for his love for children and his dedication to nurturing young minds.
The theme of this year's (2023) Children's Day, 'For every child, every right', underscores the commitment to uphold the rights of every child worldwide.

World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on November 14 and the day is an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes as a global public health issue and decide the strategies as to what needs to be done, collectively and individually for better prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition.
World Diabetes Day was established by the International Diabetes Foundation (IDF) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1991, as a response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by the ailment.
The theme for World Diabetes Day 2023 is 'Access to Diabetes Care'.

World Kindness Day

World Kindness Day is celebrated on November 13 every year. The day inspires people to appreciate the kindness and positive power in society.
World Kindness Day commenced in the year 1998 by an organisation named World Kindness Movement during the 1997 Tokyo Conference. This international event is celebrated in many countries including Canada, Nigeria, Japan, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. Along with Singapore, India, and Italy celebrated the day in the year 2009.

World Pneumonia Day

World Pneumonia Day is observed annually on November 12 with an aim to highlight and raise awareness about the complications and issues related to pneumonia. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the rate of the severity of pneumonia is more in children less than five years of age and adults above 65 years of age are also at maximum risk.
World Pneumonia Day was first observed in 2009, under the 'Stop Pneumonia' initiatives by the Global Coalition Against Child Pneumonia.
'Defeat Pneumonia: Every Breath Counts, Every Action Matters' is the theme for World Pneumonia Day 2023.

National Education Day

National Education Day is celebrated every year on November 11 in honour of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Education Minister. This special day marks his birthday and serves as a tribute to his remarkable contributions to education and institution building. Educational institutions across the country participate in this observance to emphasise the significance of literacy and education.
It was on November 11, 2008, that the Ministry of Human Resource Development officially designated Maulana Abul Kalam Azad's birthday as National Education Day. This day is dedicated to honouring his foundational contributions to India's educational system and to assess and enhance the country's current educational performance.
The theme for National Education Day 2023 is 'Prioritising Education: Investing in Our People'.

World Science Day for Peace and Development

World Science Day for Peace and Development, celebrated annually on November 10, serves as a global platform to recognize the pivotal role of science in society. This day not only emphasizes the importance of engaging the public in discussions on emerging scientific issues but also highlights the relevance of science in our daily lives. By linking science more closely with society, the day aims to keep citizens informed of scientific developments and the indispensable role scientists play in enhancing our understanding of our fragile planet.
The inception of World Science Day for Peace and Development can be traced back to the positive outcomes of the 1999 World Conference on Science in Budapest. Originating from a commitment to science and society, this day was established as an annual event to reaffirm goals proclaimed in the Declaration on Science and the Use of Scientific Knowledge. Since its proclamation by UNESCO in 2001, the day has catalysed numerous projects, programs, and funding for science globally.
The theme for World Science Day for Peace and Development 2023 is 'Building Trust in Science'.
