CRPF Celebrates Foundation Day

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), one of India's most prestigious paramilitary forces, celebrated its 87th Foundation Day on July 27, 2025. Since its inception in 1939, the CRPF has played a pivotal role in maintaining internal security and safeguarding India from external and internal threats. With its motto 'Service and Loyalty', the CRPF continues to stand as a symbol of dedication, bravery, and resilience.

Indian Army Receives First Batch of Apache Helicopters from US

The Indian Army received the first batch of three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters from the United States, marking a significant enhancement to its combat capabilities. The helicopters were formally inducted, following their arrival at Hindon Air Force Station near Delhi.
The AH-64E Apache is among the world's most advanced multi-role attack helicopters, manufactured by Boeing. Equipped with advanced targeting, navigation, and communications systems, it carries a 30mm chain gun, Hellfire missiles, rocket pods, and Longbow radar, enabling precision strikes in day, night, and adverse weather conditions.

GRSE Launches Last of 8 Anti-Submarine Warfare Ships for Indian Navy

Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd launched the eighth and last ship, in a series of anti-submarine warfare shallow water crafts, built for the Indian Navy.
The ship, named Ajay, was launched by Priya Deshmukh, wife of Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh, chief of materiel of the Indian Navy, who was the chief guest at the function.

The 13th High-Level Meeting between the Indian Coast Guard and the Korea Coast Guard

The 13^th High-Level Meeting (HLM) between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Korea Coast Guard (KCG) was held in New Delhi. Both sides engaged in discussions to boost cooperation in Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR), Pollution Response (PR), and Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE), while reaffirming their commitment to share best practices and enhance interoperability under the 2006 MoU.
The meeting was co-chaired by Director General ICG S. Paramesh and Commissioner General KIM Yong Jin, Commissioner General, KCG.

India Taps Global Satellite Firms to Boost Military Surveillance

In a move to strengthen real-time surveillance and military preparedness, the Indian government initiated talks with global commercial satellite imagery providers. This follows intelligence reports that China supported Pakistan with live satellite inputs during Operation Sindoor in 2025. The aim is to enhance India's existing capabilities by integrating high-resolution, real-time imagery into defence operations.
India's defence forces currently rely on indigenous satellites like Cartosat and RISAT for imaging and surveillance. While effective in tracking enemy movements and confirming strike outcomes, these satellites have limitations such as lower imaging frequency and moderate resolution.

INS Nistar, India's First Indigenous Diving Support Vessel, Commissioned in Visakhapatnam

INS Nistar, the country's first indigenously designed and constructed Diving Support Vessel (DSV) was commissioned into the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam. The commissioning ceremony took place in the presence of Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, senior naval officials, and representatives from Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), the shipbuilder.
INS Nistar is the first of two DSVs being built by HSL and is equipped for complex deep-sea saturation diving and submarine rescue operations, a capability limited to a few global navies.
