French, German Language Courses Announced in Bihar Colleges under NEP 2020

In a major step towards improving global learning opportunities, the Bihar government started foreign language courses in French and German across 15 government colleges in the state. This is part of a larger plan to eventually introduce these courses in all government-run higher education institutions in Bihar.
The initiative, announced by the state education department, aims to provide students with new language skills that can help them in areas like international education, business, tourism, and diplomacy.
These foreign language classes will initially be offered as part of the Skill Development programme under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

NLU Delhi Appoints Former CJI D. Y. Chandrachud as Distinguished Professor

National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) announced the appointment of former Chief Justice of India, D. Y. Chandrachud, as a Distinguished Professor.
As part of this collaboration, NLU Delhi will establish a Centre for Constitutional Studies, with Justice Chandrachud at the helm of its research direction.
The collaboration with NLU Delhi is expected to increase NLU Delhi's teaching and research initiatives and particularly contribute to constitutional law.
In addition, NLU Delhi will launch a lecture series titled, 'In the Spirit of Justice: The DYC Distinguished Lecture Series' which is set to begin July 2025 onwards.

After JNU, Kanpur University Breaks Ties with Istanbul University

After growing protests in India over Turkey's recent geopolitical actions, Kanpur University officially withdrawn its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Istanbul University. Kanpur University became the second institution to take such a step, following Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which did earlier.

IIT Roorkee Launches Strategic Product Management Programme

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) launched a Strategic Product Management (SPM) programme to empower aspiring professionals and freshers to become future-ready product leaders. The five-month program aims to empower learners with end-to-end product thinking, from ideation to go-to-market execution, through live online classes and a three-day campus immersion at IIT Roorkee.
Candidates with a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks are eligible to apply for the course.

JNU Suspends MoU with Turkish University Citing National Security Concerns

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) suspended its academic cooperation with Inonu University in Malatya, Turkey over national security concerns. The action followed a re-examination of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The step was taken after reports emerged linking Turkey to the India-Pakistan conflict, with defence sources stating that drones and security personnel were sent to Pakistan by Turkey.
The Memorandum of Understanding, signed on February 3, 2025, was set to remain in effect for three years.

Delhi Police Launches 'Nayi Disha' to Reintegrate School Dropouts

In a shift from conventional policing to community empowerment, the Delhi Police launched a new initiative called 'Nayi Disha – A Path Back to Learning' to reintegrate school dropouts into the formal education system. Through proactive community engagement and collaboration with NGOs and schools, the police aim to reduce dropout rates and foster educational continuity for disadvantaged children.

Ambedkar University Delhi Announces MA in Pol Science, D Litt Programme

The Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) announced the launch of two new academic programmes — Master's in political science and Doctor of Literature (D.Litt) — for the 2025-26 academic year.
AUD vice-chancellor Anu Singh Lather also unveiled the university's admission brochure for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
A total of 1,123 undergraduate and 1,491 postgraduate seats are on offer this year.

IIM Raipur, Chhattisgarh Government Launches fully-funded MBA in Public Policy and Governance

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, a leading Indian institution, launched a two-year MBA in Public Policy and Governance under the Chief Minister's Good Governance Fellowship (CMGGF). The program is designed to nurture future leaders in public policy by blending academic excellence to build impactful careers in government, public sector enterprises, and policy think tanks.
The Chhattisgarh government will fully sponsor the program by covering the fees for all the enrolled students, and provide a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 to support the academic pursuits, studies, along with boarding and lodging during academic sessions at IIM Raipur.
