Indian Educator Wins Global Teacher Prize 2026

Indian teacher Rouble Nagi has won the Global Teacher Prize 2026 at the World Government Summit in Dubai. The award carries one million dollars and was presented by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Nagi was honoured for turning neglected walls into interactive murals that teach reading, writing, arithmetic, public health and environmental awareness. Over two decades, her work has helped more than one million children access formal education through art. She was selected from over 5,000 nominations representing 139 countries.
