Jammu and Kashmir to host International Indian Style Wrestling event 2025

Jammu and Kashmir hosted its first International Indian Style Wrestling (Dangal) event, along with the Rustam-e-Jammu Kashmir Title 2025, at Maulana Azad Stadium in Srinagar. The three‑day championship featured over 100 international and national wrestlers competing for the Rustam-e Jammu Kashmir title, open to competitors above 85 kg. The prize money included Rs. 50,000 for the champion, Rs. 30,000 for the runner-up, and smaller awards for other places. Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the event aimed to celebrate and promote traditional wrestling and showcase regional athletic talent on a global platform.

58th Inter IIT Sports Meet 2025 kicks off at IIT Madras

The 58th Inter IIT Sports Meet 2025 began at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, running from 14 to 21 December 2025. IIT Madras hosts the event with IIT Hyderabad and IIT Tirupati as co-hosts. FIFA Best Awards 2025 announced in Doha

Australian Paralympic long jumper Nicholas Hum passes away at 32

Australian Paralympic long jumper Nicholas Hum died at the age of 32, sending shockwaves through the athletics world. A Paralympic bronze medallist and long-time representative of Australia, Hum passed away in December 2025, a little more than a year after retiring from elite competition. Competing in the T20 classification, he represented Australia across more than a decade at the highest level.
