India's junior men's hockey team maintained its continental supremacy as it beat arch-rivals Pakistan 2-1 to win the Junior Asia Cup, held in Salalah, Oman, for the fourth time.
India became the most successful team in the history of the tournament. They had also won the title in 2004, 2008 and 2015. Pakistan (1987, 1992, and 1996) won the tournament three times.
The team finished the tournament with an unbeaten record, also qualifying for the Junior World Cup. Hockey India announced a cash award of Rs. 2 lakh each for the players and Rs. 1 lakh each for the support staff.

India's Esow Alben Wins Bronze Medal in Bahnen-Tournee Cycling 2023
Indian cyclist Esow Alben won the bronze medal in the elite men's keirin event at the Finale Bahnen-Tournee 2023 cycling competition in Dudenhofen, Germany. The Finale Bahnen-Tournee is a UCI Class 1 event.
Esow Elben, who became the first Indian to win a cycling world championship medal after clinching a silver at the 2018 edition, finished behind Germany's Marc Jurczyk and France's Sebastien Vigier - both world championships medallists.
Sebastien Vigier was also part of the French team which won the Team sprint cycling bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Esow's compatriot Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam, meanwhile, finished 10th in the men's sprint event at the Germany meet.

Junior Asia Cup: India Storm into Final
The Indian hockey team produced a dominant performance to outclass South Korea 9-1 and entered the final of the Junior Asia Cup. In the title clash tomorrow, India will meet Pakistan, who beat Malaysia 6-2 in the second semi-finals
The Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup is a men's international under-21 field hockey tournament organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. The tournament has been held since 1988 and serves as a qualification tournament for the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup.
The tournament has been won by four different teams: India and Pakistan have the most tiles with three. Malaysia and South Korea have both won the tournament once.
The Junior Asia Cup 2023 was hosted by Oman.

Defending champions Anna University had to sweat it out against Bharthiar University as it went to a decider double where ultimately they pulled off a win in the super tie-break.
For the bronze medal as well it was a nail-biting finish for Gujarat University as they overcame Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (Deemed to be University) (KIIT) by 2-1.
