Kondaiah Jonnalagadda Appointed Head, Department of Law at MNLU Aurangabad
Professor Kondaiah Jonnalagadda was appointed to the position of Head, Department of Law at Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad.
Prior to this, he worked as Associate Professor of Law at National Law University, Odisha.
He is the Gold medallist in his Master of Law from University of Madras, In addition to this He is also recipient of various academic honours namely, i. L.C.Miller Medal 2002 (Gold Medal) ii. The Dr. A.L. Mudaliar Prizes 2002 iii. Justice M.N. Rao Prize 2002 iv. Best Student Award in M.L, (The Mylapore Academy, Chennai) (2002).

Supreme Court to Appoint Interpreter to Enable Deaf Lawyer Sarah Sunny to Argue Her Case
In a first, the Supreme Court directed its registry to appoint an interpreter for deaf lawyer Sarah Sunny to appear before the top court and argue her case. The Court will bear the expenses for the interpreter.
Registrar Vivek Saxena passed the order directing the registry officials to take necessary steps in this regard.
The Court was hearing an application moved through advocate Sanchita Ain seeking appointment of an interpreter for advocate Sunny.

Gurminder Singh New Punjab Advocate General
Senior Advocate Gurminder Singh was cleared for appointment as the new Advocate General (AG) of Punjab, following the resignation of Senior Advocate Vinod Ghai from the post.
The announcement was made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
While Ghai resigned citing personal reasons, there were reports last month (September 2023) that State decided to replace him as the AG's office was not able to defend its key decisions before the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Singh has been practicing before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Delhi High Court and Himachal Pradesh High Court since 1989 after obtaining his degree in law from Panjab University.
He was designated a Senior Advocate of Punjab and Haryana High Court in January 2014 and his area of practice includes constitutional, commercial, tender, service, arbitration and criminal matters.
Singh in the past has also served as Additional, Assistant and Deputy Advocate General of Punjab Government.
With Ghai's resignation and his replacement by Singh, it is the fourth such change of AG in Punjab since September 2021 and third in the last 1.5 years since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power in the state.

Justice Anant Badar is Chairperson of Bihar State Human Rights Commission
Former judge of the Patna High Court, Justice Anant Badar was appointed the chairperson of the Bihar State Human Rights Commission (BSHRC).
Justice Badar was initially appointed as a judge of the Bombay High Court in March 2014, where he served for nearly six years. He was then transferred to the Kerala High Court in June 2020 and thereafter to the Patna High Court in October 2021.
