Jitendra Singh Inaugurates India's First 'Open-Air Art Wall Museum'

India's first 'Open Air Art Wall Museum' was inaugurated by Union Minister Jitendra Singh at Mausam Bhawan in the national capital, commemorating the 150-year milestone of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Developed in collaboration with 'Delhi Street Art', this unique initiative transforms the walls of IMD's Lodhi Road headquarters into a vibrant narrative of India's meteorological advancements and its impact on society. Minister Singh applauded IMD's enduring contribution to socio-economic development through accurate weather forecasts, emphasising the department's role in addressing dynamic climate challenges with cutting-edge technology.
The art showcase features 38 distinct murals reflecting India's meteorological history, the evolution of weather forecasting, and its effects on agriculture, disaster management, and daily life.

The 24^th Divya Kala Mela commenced at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, with a grand inauguration by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, and Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar. The 11-day fair, organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, aims to celebrate and empower persons with disabilities by providing them with a national platform to showcase their entrepreneurial and artistic talents.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha emphasised the crucial role of persons with disabilities in shaping a self-reliant India. He reiterated the government's commitment to fostering inclusivity and economic independence for Divyangjan. Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's visionary approach in redefining the perception of persons with disabilities by introducing the term Divyangjan, signifying their strength and resilience.

MoHUA Launches 'Culinary, Crafts & Clicks' Festival

The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is hosting "Culinary, Crafts & Clicks – Moods & Magic", a Festival of Street Food & Handicraft at Amrit Udyan, Rashtrapati Bhavan till February 23, 2025.
This initiative aims to celebrate India's diverse street food and handicraft, offering self-help groups (SHGs) from across India and street food vendors, a platform to enhance their reach and integrate into mainstream markets.
A key highlight is the Street Food Festival, featuring authentic flavours from across the country, alongside 40 SHGs led by women entrepreneurs, displaying handcrafted artifacts, artisanal products, and traditional delicacies.

Exhibition "Legacy of Indo- Oman Relations" at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hall, Delhi

The National Archives of India (NAI) in collaboration with the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA), Sultanate of Oman, jointly inaugurated an exhibition on the theme 'Legacy of Indo-Oman Relations' at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi.

Fort William Renamed as 'Vijay Durg'

In a step towards decolonisation, the Indian Army renamed Kolkata's Fort William, the headquarters of its Eastern Command, as 'Vijay Durg'. The decision reflects India's commitment to honouring its indigenous military history over colonial relics. Inspired by the historic Vijaydurg Fort in Maharashtra, which served as a naval stronghold under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, this renaming aligns with the government's broader push to erase colonial imprints from institutions and landmarks.
It was Built in 1781 by the British and named after King William III of England.
